Hello, my friends!
I’m so glad you have taken the time to stop by my post! Today I will share the final pieces from my Stitch Fix box for this month. As I said after my second box, I might be an easy sell because I tend to like the selections–I can’t help it, I do like to try new things! After all, that’s what is so fun about fashion! However this month, I will be returning at least one item.
That item is a maxi dress that I received. It is a knit fabric in a bright pretty pattern, but I was skeptical as to how it might look on me.
After trying it on, I have to admit it is not a great look on me. Being somewhat short and fullish figured, I don’t find the fit flattering. The crossover in the bodice was a bit loose and I found myself constantly pulling it together–not a good thing.
I also found it too long, and I am totally against buying things that I must have hemmed when there are so many petite pieces that fit the first time. While I liked the color and pattern, it just isn’t the right look on me, so back it goes.
The final piece is a white poplin top with a bit of an off-shoulder look. At first, I just couldn’t get behind this piece. It seemed an odd mix of a traditional white shirt mixed with the off-shoulder look. Take a look here. What do you think? I would love it if you could give me your opinion on this one, as I have a few more days to decide. (The area for comments follows the post at the bottom. I would love to hear from you!)
You can see the drawstring for the slightly off-shoulder look at the neckline.
There is also a bit of a drop shoulder that is interesting, and you can also see the button up front and chest pockets. Lots of interesting details.
And finally, there is a traditional pleat in the back.
There is a lot to like about a blouse like this. One can always use another white shirt, and this gives me an entirely different look while maintaining the crisp, clean look of a classic white shirt. I just can’t decide if it is trying to do too much. But it’s growing on me. How about you?
The final piece in the box is a very nice gold necklace in a longer length with simple gold bars. I didn’t see any way to put it together with any of these pieces, but simple gold jewelry looks to be a big trend this fall so I will keep it and style it for you in a future post.
