Hello my Friends,
We all need to find ways to maximize our wardrobes for different occasions, seasons, or looks. So, for this post and the next two, I will share some ideas for creating different looks with one central piece.
I started with one piece: a basic sundress from Old Navy:
I’m so glad that yellow is trending this season as it is one of my favorite colors and I have several pieces in my wardrobe. This dress will be perfect for warm days this spring and for hot summer days as well.
But with our weather along the coast cooling down with coastal fog and damp, I wanted to be able to wear this dress in the meantime. So, I looked through my closet to see what other pieces I could use with this one basic piece.
For the first look, I am styling the dress with old denim leggings from Hue that I purchased at Nordstrom several years ago. I added my tencel denim tunic from JJill and tied it at the waist.
Because the day was chilly, I added my Vince Camuto booties with my bronze cross-body bag.
To dress it up a bit, I am wearing a gold and white statement necklace that I have used before.
You can see how easy it is to take a summer dress and, picking out some tones in the floral, add some pieces that make it warmer, while still looking fun and stylish. You could also add a long duster or jean jacket, or tights and boots, or even a faux fur jacket. While I went with a pretty safe color combination (because I really liked the blue denim-like shades in the floral), you could easily go with another pop of color and add red or orange pieces. Really, whatever colors you like would work!
You can see my hair is pretty curly here. I will tell you all about that in tomorrow’s post! I know you will want to hear that story! Haha!
Thanks for reading my post and for helping me to grow my following by Liking or Sharing this post.
Check back in tomorrow for another way to style a basic sundress.
