Yesterday I shared a casual look with a basic sundress. Today I will be sharing how I took the dress to a slightly dressier level.
Once again, I paired the dress with blue. To kick it up a notch, I added my cropped dress sweater from Lands End in navy.
Because it is really starting to cool down here, I am once again wearing my Hue leggings, but it would work with bare legs on a warmer day. You can see I am wearing my indigo blue heels from Talbots.
I am also wearing my gold and white statement necklace from yesterday’s outfit with a gold bracelet and earrings.
To make the outfit a little less casual, I am carrying my mustard clutch, which I love with the floral print in the dress.
As I look at these images, I am really thinking this would look dressier without the leggings, so I will try that on the next warm day!
It can be challenging to find just a basic sundress, so this one from Old Navy really fit the bill. I love the casual and easy feel of the dress and look forward to wearing it on future trips to Palm Springs and Mexico.
OK, I promised to talk about the hair. The truth is, I have VERY curly hair. In fact, everyone in my family had curly hair, starting with both of my parents. I suffered all through high school when all the other girls wore their hair long and straight. Finally, in 12th grade, short “afro” looks started to be popular and I was SO happy to jump on that bandwagon! As a professional, I always felt like I looked more appropriate with carefully styled hair, so did some serious blow drying to keep it tame. Living by the coast, which gets damp sometimes, I got tired of it and have been doing keratin treatments for the last few years. I love the straight, but it just seems redundant to straighten it out and then fight to put some curl back in! I’ve been trying to grow out my hair as it shrinks almost three inches when I let it dry naturally. So, no I did not get it cut! Haha! But I am once again going to go curly and see how it feels. I would love your feedback–or tips!!
Please check back in tomorrow for a very casual version of this dress. Thanks, my friends, for liking and sharing my posts. I am very gradually growing my following, so when you pass it on, it truly helps.
