While this weekend is considered the unofficial start to summer, today is the official day we honor all of those who have sacrificed in the service of our country in the US. It’s also an important time to recognize the people who have lost their lives to the global pandemic. We are all very fortunate to live in a country where all can voice their opinions, vote their conscience, worship as they choose (or choose not to), and live freely.
The pandemic has certainly caused me to think about all the things I enjoy, and I hope this crisis will not allow me to take anything for granted in the future. I also hope that those who lost their lives serving our country lived their lives to the fullest before making the ultimate sacrifice and that their families know that we appreciate all they have done.
As our country begins the process of “reopening,” here’s wishing you a safe and wonderful Memorial Day.
