Happy Monday, my friends!
Although it’s once again gloomy and overcast, I think it’s a good time to put some color back into your wardrobe! Just because it is winter doesn’t mean we have to dress in all dark colors, unless it is intentional, of course! So, this week, I will be styling some colorful looks and pieces. I think it is so fun to add color to an outfit. I was sitting at a Board meeting for an educational association I serve on recently, and as I looked around the table it was SO obvious that every single person there–men and women–were wearing black. I was wearing a pink sweater and was glad I was!!
To begin my week-long series on color, I will share my take on the Pantone Color of the Year–greenery. Here is the explanation by Pantone for this choice of color:

Pantone’s Color of the Year – 2017
As you can see from these images, this color actually has a lot of yellow in it, making it a bit more of a lime color.
However, there are many versions of green that are trending–from lime to deep forest, along with rich colors in blue, pink, and yellow. For today’s post, I am sharing my take on this color. Almost every spring, I like to integrate a nice bright “meadow” green into my wardrobe just because I love green and it always makes me feel happy. What are the colors that make you feel best?
My green trench was a great find from Lands End, and with a 30% off online special, I purchased it for under $60. It comes in a few other colors, including tan and black, which all look nice. A trench coat is such a classic and is always in style, so you can’t go wrong with any of the colors. I have always loved the back detail on a trench coat.
To complete the look, I am wearing my white jeans from Lands End, with the hems folded up. I am also styling my blue velvet booties, which you have seen in earlier posts. I just can’t resist the bright blue color–I love them!!
My top is from the Caslon label from Nordstrom, which I picked up off a sale rack and can wear under blazers, with jeans or slacks, or sleeveless with shorts.
Buttoned or unbuttoned, a trench coat is always in style! Which way do you like it best?
I would love to see a picture of you styling a trench coat. I’m betting that almost all of you have at least one in your wardrobe!
Tomorrow I will continue with Day 2 of my “5 Ways to Style Color this Spring.” I welcome your comments and ideas. Please take the time to like my post on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
Warmly,
