Good morning! I hope you all enjoyed the first day of summer yesterday. It is the summer solstice, which means it is the longest day of the year. Don’t we all love that?
Today I am showing how to dress up a pair of basic denim shorts. These are old Rider shorts by Lee. I honestly think I got them at Wal-Mart a few years ago. They actually get better the most they are washed. This type of shorts that can be worn long as I am here, like a Bermuda short, or rolled at the hem for a shorter look.
To dress it up just a bit, I styled a colorful cold-shoulder top. This is an inexpensive one from TJ Maxx, and I love the aqua color with the striking pattern.
I played up the bit of gray in the pattern with this tassel necklace. The tassel cascades out of an antique gold piece, so I added some very old antique gold and aqua earrings. My adorable bracelet is a piece I picked up on the Isle of Burano in Italy, and I think of our visit there every time I put it on. I have been to Italy at least seven times and still want to go back. There is so much to see, do, eat, and shop there!
I have used this cross-body bag in many posts. It can look either bronze or gold and appears silver with this outfit.
Once again, I like to mention the details. The sleeve detail on these short flutter sleeves makes the whole top with the lace insert.
And finally, flat sandals are really hot this summer–aren’t we all happy about that? You just can’t beat cute and comfortable! I am again styling my Franco Sarto sandals–I linked to them on yesterday’s post if you want to check them out.
