Happy Thursday, everyone!
Today is an absolutely beautiful sunny day with bright blue skies. The temperature is around 75, which I think is perfect! As I’m sure you’ve noticed, floral prints are really trending this spring. They were big in the international fashion shows as well.
I’ve always thought, being shortish, that I have to be very careful with prints. I remember buying a floral dress many years ago and my husband saying how great that would look on the table! So, I’ve always been a little leery of prints. But I’m seeing some really nice looks on Pinterest from other fashion bloggers and some small fashion businesses.
Here are a couple of examples of looks I’ve seen and liked:
You can check out some more floral looks on my Pinterest Board titled, “Floral for Spring:” https://www.pinterest.com/aquamarinastyle/floral-for-spring/
As you can see, there are dark florals as well as pastels, in tops, blouses, dresses, and skirts. So you don’t have to wear a lot to be on trend.
For my beginning take on floral, I am styling a floral tank. I don’t want to tell you all that it’s from Walmart, but I liked the colors so much, I splurged for the $4.97 price! Haha!
I am wearing my tank with an older three-quarter sleeve cardigan from Talbots. I love the periwinkle blue and I think it looks good on everybody!
My necklace and earrings are from Sundance. They have some really pretty things, and this one has blue stones and garnets and gold. So, since the day is so pretty, I paired my outfit with my gold gladiator sandals, also from Talbots.
This little crossbody bag is one I bought on my trip to Northern Michigan last fall. In my very first post, I talked about this great little shop where my BFF takes me whenever I visit. It’s called Haystacks and I bought all kinds of great pieces there. They are great for travel and for mix-and-matching.
I love the way the color of the bag makes the coral in the top pop! The bag is made of “vegan leather.” Don’t you just love the new term for handbags that we used to call “faux leather?” In any case, these bags are very versatile and this one is especially so as it is totally reversible! The other side is a rich caramel brown.
Well, I’m going to enjoy this warm weather while it’s here as the temp is expected to drop over the weekend and maybe bring a little more rain!
Hope you enjoyed my little flirtation with floral. How will YOU style floral this spring?
Warmly,
Darlene
