Are you a fashion snob? I ask because I have to admit that in some ways, I am a fashion snob. For some wardrobe pieces, I tend to choose quality brands over others. This is mostly true for shoes–I prefer quality and that equates to comfort in my experience–handbags–though I do add cute inexpensive bags to my closet, too–and basics like blazers and dress pants. But I also have to admit to picking up the occasional must-have item simply because it’s cute and catches my fancy! That is certainly true of this outfit: an affordable polka dot halter top and long cardigan.
Many of my fellow bloggers have been sharing finds from Walmart. Walmart, you say? I can recall many times recently when ladies have been shocked by my fashion finds from Target! Shocking, however, as most of us know that Target has some super cute brands that are not only cute but are of nice quality, too!
Here are just a few posts featuring some of my favorite finds from Target:
- Wide Leg Jeans and Tops for Summer Style
- Front Tie Top and Jeans Outfit: Spring Style
- Outfit Ideas for a Casual Shift Dress
Cute? Yes. Well-made? Yes. Stylish? Yes. Many of the brands and pieces from Target check all the boxes for me, and for many of my blogging friends.
And now, Walmart is showing some pretty cute pieces as well. I first learned about the Scoop brand recently from Cyndi Spivey’s blog post. She was styling a patterned jumpsuit that caught my eye. I liked the fun and unusual look, so I took a look at this brand to see what other pieces they might offer. Here is how Walmart defines this new line of clothing:
Scoop. Meet your must-haves. Get inspired with fun, flirty pieces, the latest trends and some unexpected finds. Here now—your go-to looks for all you do.
Today, I’m sharing two pieces from that line that are cute and easy to style.
Affordable Polka Dot Halter Top and Long Cardigan
The feel of this line of clothes is on the Bohemian side. While it’s not my main style choice, I do love to add Bohemian pieces to my wardrobe to shake things up a bit. Like this affordable polka dot halter top and long cardigan outfit.
In the warmer months, I’m a sucker for halter tops. Rust has been a big color since last Fall, and it’s a color I like to wear as it looks good on me whether my skin is white and pale or has a touch of summer color. But if rust is not for you, both the halter top and cardigan come in several other patterns and colors.
This top is loose-fitting with an uneven hem which adds interest. Of course, polka dots always add a touch of cuteness to a look!
A sweater is useful even in the summer months with all the air-conditioned homes and buildings. (Assuming, of course, we will be able to go to all those places!) The beauty of this long cardigan is the semi-sheer weave of the fabric. It adds just a touch of warmth, yet it’s still airy and cool for a warm summer evening.
Rattan hoop earrings update the outfit and give it a nice summery vibe.
The length is fun and trendy, too! There are some fun flared pants in the same pattern, so if you choose to go all-out Bohemian, check them out below!
I’ve styled the pieces here with white jeans for a spring-to-summer feel, but they would look cute with denim shorts or jeans, too. These jeans are my higher priced favorites by Madewell that I styled in the post, Fresh Ways to Style White Jeans for Spring. They are worth the bit of extra money for the fit that works well for me.
