Now that description got your attention, didn’t it? Lol! This atomic orange dress is actually a pretty soft shade and not quite atomic, but still an eye-catching color for spring.
Do you have a certain color or colors you’re drawn to for spring? Certainly, all the pretty Easter egg colors are a draw, but I have been hankering for orange. And this dress fit the bill!
The Atomic Orange Dress
Now, I don’t yet have an occasion to wear this fun dress but those days are coming and I plan to: a)be ready to dress up, and b)add some color and style. After the past year, I think we’re all ready for some positives in our lives and I am planning to dress for them! How about you? Will you join me in this endeavor?
I’ve read that dress sales are surging right now. It makes perfect sense that fashionable ladies are ready to strut their stuff in a pretty dress, doesn’t it? And at this time of year, there are so many gorgeous ones to choose from, whether your preference is a flowy floral, a fitted tee-shirt dress, a bright print, or a solid figure-flattering style. There is just something about wearing a dress that makes us feel good.
The dress is part of Loft’s “beach” line, which tends toward the casual. It’s also available in black which could definitely be summery with some sandals and a woven bag, too.
The *Dolman sleeve style makes the top more interesting, I think. The fit of this dress is a bit unique and to be honest, I haven’t decided if it’s for me or not, so I hope you’ll weigh in. Is it a keeper? In any case, it had me at “atomic orange.” Lol! I also like the 40s vibe it evokes.
*a sleeve very wide at the armhole and tight at the wrist often cut in one piece with the bodice
I do love the pleat detail in the back. As I said, totally 40s style, right?
The Accessories
In keeping with my determination to be ready for the warmth of spring, I styled it with a cool pair of wedge sandals from Ugg. They are just the right height and have lots of padding for comfort!
I first saw them on Deborah Boland’s site Fabulous After 40. She is the master of “fab finds.” Check out her blog for some great suggestions.
And the bag? In my opinion, it’s time to pull out the cute woven bags we all love for summer! They work well in the spring, too, right? And this round woven bag continues to be hot for spring and summer. If you still haven’t picked one up, this round bag is a good buy!
Or, style the outfit with a cute crossbody to match the shoes. I love this little cognac bag! I’ve linked to a similar bag.

Cognac Crossbody Bag (similar)
For a beach version, I would style it with flat sandals, a large hat, and a straw beach bag. Maybe for an alfresco dinner? Well, since most dining out continues to be mostly outside, that’s an easy one to fulfill! Lol!
In any event, add some color for spring with this atomic orange dress for something a little different with a little bit of zing and lots of style!
Gorgeous dress! I love the colour and the pleating at the back. Thanks for linking up!

HI Darlene
I do love the blooson style of the top portion and more streamlined, bottom, it does look very 40s! The color is lovely and I have been looking to add some coral tops to my Spring wardrobe. I am a dress girl, so I am always excited to put on a dress. Love it with those espadrilles.
Have a Happy Easter!
