Happy Friday! I hope you’ve had a great week. The heat is finally off and we are in the much more comfortable 80’s. Who knows what next week will bring?! So, what to wear? Good ol’ basic black.
First off, I’m adding a photo of the floral cold-shoulder tunic and white jeans outfit that I showed in Wednesday’s post so you could see just how cute this top is! And just how versatile white jeans can be for almost any occasion, including the holidays.
For today’s post, I thought going back to the basics was in order. With all the great colors and patterns that are trending right now, you can still see lots of basic black casual outfits on Pinterest and Instagram and they are always in style. A pure black outfit with a bright shoe or bootie can be seen everywhere and a look all of us can rock. And it is also a great look for the holidays! A casual Thanksgiving in your future? Holiday drinks after work? Basic black will work every time.
For this look, I added a few pieces to the basic black I started with. I am styling my designer jeans with a simple elbow-sleeve turtleneck top. (From Target and it comes in lots of colors!) I am showing two ways to style this, with simple but elegant gold jewelry (totally trending) or with a holiday or a small animal print scarf. Both will work for almost anything. If you need to up the look a bit, you could wear those great fitting black slacks in your closet with this.
Basic black with a menswear blazer
Add a blazer, like this menswear plaid, a long cardigan or a faux fur jacket and your outfit will be a hit!
See how many ways you can style basic black pants and a top?
In all of these shots, I am styling my burgundy block heels from Sole Society. (They are actually called Rumba Red, and yes, I am only styling them on one foot.) Right now I am wishing I had a great pair of beautiful red pumps! Wouldn’t that look stunning? Here are just a few gorgeous red pumps I found–there were SO many, but this is a nice variety:
