Happy Friday evening, my friends,
The weekend is here at last! As wives, moms, aunts, grandmas, friends, and so on, we are always looking ahead to the next holiday and prepping for all of our loved ones, right? Well, this post is dedicated to YOU so that you can begin thinking about what YOU are going to do, wear, celebrate for Valentine’s Day.
For this post, I am styling all black. I really like color, but every now and then all black can really up the ante on an outfit.
A few weeks ago, I mentioned that the trend in sleeve details is continuing. There are so many great tops with all kinds of sleeves, which help create interest. The top I am styling here has these amazing chiffon batwing sleeves. It is another one of those “finds” from the boutique at my hair salon, Salon Zinnia.
I thought about pairing it with jeans or some other pants, but finally settled on basic black slacks. These are lovely ponte knit slacks by Vince Camuto from Nordstrom. To keep it simple, yet elegant, I wore my calf-hair pumps by Clarks.
For jewelry, I went with big silver statement earrings from Brighton, with my charm bracelet. Remember those? I have had this bracelet for most of my life, and am still “charmed” by it. It brings back such memories, and I still love the way the charms tinkle. It has charms which were gifts from my mom, my friends, my husband and my son. You have seen my clutch before, which is a marbled silver and black bag from Nordstrom.
You can see the embroidery on the sheer chiffon of the batwing sleeves. The back is sheer as well, for a little romance!
I choose a bright cherry lip, which is such a classic look with black. In the event it is chilly, I am setting off the black with a cherry-colored wrap.
Next week, I will be styling an all pink ensemble that could also be a great Valentine look. Pink is a very big color this spring and you will see lots of pink tops, jeans, dresses and shoes that will come in tones ranging from blush to hot pink. Although the color of the year is “greenery,” there are also a multitude of natural tones in greens, blues, and pinks that will be shown as fashion trends this spring. More about that later…
I would LOVE to hear what your plans are for Valentine’s Day!! You can respond at the end of this post.
