Have you noticed the trend toward black wash jeans? It may not be that noticeable, because, after all, there are SO many washes and shades available.
The black wash, however, is a subtle way to style black jeans. I’ll bet we all have jet black jeans in our denim collection, and these make a nice addition. Even better, they are easy to style with lots of things in your closet!
The Black Wash Jeans Outfit
Black Wash Denim
This pair of jeans is shaped in the “slim” style. This is almost always a good option for my figure–slim but not tight. While I try and wear lots of styles, this is my go-to.
Each of us has to find the fit that works best for us and this is mine.
Express advertises their line of “super soft” jeans for all fits and sizes so I thought I’d give them a try. They are truly soft, making them so comfortable and easy to wear!
The slim fit from top to bottom with a little ease at the knees is another comfy feature of these jeans. Done in a cool black wash, this is the perfect polished look. The best part is they are available in Tall, Regular, and Short to accommodate all of us. Most of the jeans and pants from Express do come in multiple sizing options.
The Smocked Top
Smocking on tops is nothing new, but it is showing up all over the fashion world this fall. It’s such a pretty way to add detail and shaping to a top. This top is from J. Jill.
J. Jill is known for its soft and wearable fashion. They have lots of holiday looks on the casual side that can be dressed up or down.
Speaking of J. Jill, I had a close colleague who was a J. Jill aficionado. Everything she wore came from J. Jill. Our collective boss once told her, I want to dress just like you when I retire. We had lots of laughs over that as she tried to decide if it was meant as a compliment or a suggestion! This particular boss dressed to the nines every single day. While she always looked amazing, it wasn’t quite the look the rest of us wanted to copy, especially since we were out in the field working with site leaders and teachers every day. Oh, the memories…
With a black background and multiple colors in the floral pattern, this is one of those tops that can go with many pants or jeans in your closet.
The rayon fabric has a lovely drape and the rounded hem can be worn tucked or untucked. And it’s machine washable and dryable! Gotta love that, right?
The Final Touch
With the busy floral pattern as the focal point, you don’t need to add much in the way of accessories. When I saw these eclectic drop earrings, I knew they would be just the right touch. I love the geometric shapes!
This outfit makes a cute and stylish holiday look for an in-house or casual party. By changing out the jeans for slacks and heels, you are party-ready! After all, holiday fashion doesn’t have to be red!
