What a beautiful day! Today I am styling a blush pink top and tan jeans. This is a basic outfit that I dressed up a bit with a tassel necklace and earrings.
This is a typical outfit like we all might wear for shopping or dinner with friends, right? I’m loving the fact that this shade of pink is so popular this year. It is a lovely feminine color that looks good on everyone. You know how rooms, like bedrooms and bathrooms, are often painted pink to soften the light and make women look beautiful? Well, the same concept holds true for women and clothes. The blush color close to your face can soften your look and make your complexion look even nicer.
I just had to get outside on this gorgeous day for my photos. My husband, having just retired, is now my photographer! He does a very nice job, but you can see we both need to learn a bit more about taking and editing photos. As I said in my first blog, this has been a journey of learning for me, and I still have a long way to go. It is lots more work that I ever dreamed and also lots of fun. I picked my niece’s brain for how to get started and have been closely following some other amazing “over 40” women fashion bloggers to see how they manage their blogs. My niece has a very successful blog with craft, recipe, and holiday ideas. She has had her blog for about five years and has thousands of followers. It is a beautiful website, too! Check it out at www.smartschoolhouse.com. I’m hoping I can make mine interesting and fun enough to build a following–that would make it so worthwhile! We shall see…
We took these photos on the nature trail near my house. You can see how green everything still is after our very rainy winter. By summer, the hills will probably be brown and dry but it is still a pretty spot! And the pink flowers all come into bloom this time of year. Such a great backdrop.
I wouldn’t normally wear tassel earrings and a tassel necklace, but I just felt like it today! And truly, personal fashion is all about how it makes you feel! This is a necklace I picked up at Haystacks in Northern Michigan last summer, and I paired it with my gorjana earrings from Nordstrom. I am wearing my super comfortable wedges from Franco Sarto and my pale pink “vegan” bag.
It is supposed to be a little cooler tomorrow. We live in a coastal city where it is always cooler–but drive five or ten minutes inland and it can be very warm by comparison! We hit 75 degrees today and I met a friend for lunch about 30 minutes away and it was 83! Both felt great. I love summer weather.
I hope you had a wonderful Wednesday. Many thanks to you all for taking the time to read my post and follow my blog. Your feedback would be very helpful!
Please check back in tomorrow.
