Do you have a sheath dress or two in your wardrobe? There is truly nothing easier than this classically styled dress. You throw it on, add some cute shoes and a bag and you are ready! And the shape of a sheath dress flatters almost any figure. Today, I am styling a boatneck sheath dress in a lovely floral pattern.
This dress was part of a recent Stitch Fix. But as it’s a Trina Turk designer dress, it’s also available elsewhere. If you are looking for a unique dress outfit for a summer wedding or other event, this dress would be a good choice. You won’t be wearing the same as everyone else at the party!!
Boatneck sheath dress
Sassy and sweet, this boatneck sheath Dress is a stylish shift for summer. The fabric is a comfy and flattering stretch cotton with texture appeal, and it features a super cute covered button detail at the shoulders. It is both classic and classy, don’t you think?
Don’t you just love the print? The floral pattern is outlined in black, so I wore an older pair of black espadrilles. These are from Clark’s and I found a similar pair here. They are very comfortable and are on trend.
There is just something about an updo that makes a simple dress look even better. Especially on a bad hair day, right? lol!
Of course, espadrilles look amazing with a woven bag, and this circle bag continues to work well with everything this season. The cork heel and the natural tan in the bag give the dress outfit a casual, summery look.
Simple accessories like these gold hoop earrings and bracelet are all that’s needed in the jewelry department.
You can see how the floral print in this boatneck sheath dress gives it a fresh look and feel. This dress is a bit pricey due to the designer label, but the fabric, the shoulder detail, and the floral pattern make it unique. Even the simplest sheath dress can serve as the basis for an elegant, classic look.
The sheath dress revisited
I’ve styled a sheath in several other posts, and have several in my closet. They are perfect for warmer weather and can be easily changed up for a work outfit, a casual look, or a special event. They look great with sweaters, blazers, and denim jackets. What could be better? Here is an example of a red sheath from a previous post (see it here) and how I dressed it up for a professional occasion.
And finally, here is a sheath in an entirely different look. I love the tropical pattern of this dress! I styled it casually for this post (see it here), but it would be very easy to dress it up for a special occasion.
As you can see, a sheath dress is a great investment and an absolute staple in your wardrobe. If you don’t already have one–or more!!–consider adding one. You will get lots of use of it!
Oh, this sheath dress is beyond adorable! The floral print and colors are so very pretty. I am just a sucker for a nice sheath dress and I really like how you styled this one with the straw bag and wedge sandals. Seriously love your style, Darlene! Thanks for linking up with Fabulous Friday!
