There is nothing more classic than a camel blazer. This is a piece that is a workhorse in any wardrobe. It can be the basis of a workwear outfit as well as a casual, yet classy look.
A blazer slims your figure no matter what your shape. They come in short and longer lengths, in all patterns and colors, and can be fitted or loose. You choose which shape best flatters your figure. Regardless of which style you choose, it’s that perfect piece you can reach for again and again when you want to look just right for any occasion.
I’ve styled blazers in previous posts-like this post on affordable fashion. The blazer, shown below, is the longer menswear style version and it is trending right now. It, too, is a classic style that can be worn for many years. This particular blazer is from Target and you can see it is a lovely gray, white and blue plaid with red running through it. Super versatile!
While it’s a blazer from last year, here is a similar version at an affordable price. Honestly, when you can pick up a quality blazer for less than $35, grab it quick!!
The camel blazer
Today I am styling this classic camel blazer with leopard flats and jeans. And I will be styling it later with black slacks and a conservative blouse. And later still with a denim or chambray shirt and plaid trousers. You can see I have future plans for this blazer! For any wardrobe basic, I apply the following criteria:
- How much do I need this?
- Where can it wear it?
- What pieces do I already have in my closet to style it with?
And a quality camel blazer meets all these criteria. So when it appeared in a recent Trunk Club, I scooped it up.
You can wear almost anything under a camel blazer, and this camisole is great for layering! I just added some tassel earrings to make a statement and a lovely gold necklace for jewelry. And tortoiseshell sunnies look great with camel!
The cut of this blazer is just right for me. As I said, once you find one that fits well, go for it!
The camel blazer outfit
A cognac bag is a great look and complements leopard flats or mules. I absolutely love these mules I picked up during the Nordstrom Sale.
Tying a scarf on the bag adds a bit of additional interest. And yes, you can mix animal prints! It’s a little variation on pattern mixing, but if the color families are similar, it will work just fine.
Camel blazer (comes in 4 colors, regular, petite and plus sizes!)
Dark wash jeans are my shade of choice as they are the most slimming. Do you have a favorite pair? These are the high-waisted jeans I’ve been raving about. They wear without bagging, are super comfy, and wash up beautifully.
While camel is a rich color, it is truly a neutral. It looks fabulous with black and gray. I styled this look with simple basic colors, but you could easily dress this up for work or a more formal work occasion.
I’ll bet you already have a collection of blazers in your closet. Pull them out and put together some simple outfits with jeans and other basic pieces. And consider adding a camel blazer to your wardrobe. You’ll be able to style it with so many things and make a number of adorable outfits!
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Until next time…
Love the mules, they are super and just right for Autumn. Thanks for joining the #chicandstylish #linkup
Thanks, Jacqui! Love seeing what you and all the other gals are styling!
