OK, I have to admit that I’m really into this comfortable clothing thing. With the lower temps and our still-staying-at-home-much-of-the-time lifestyle, it’s a no-brainer choice. But that doesn’t mean we can’t add some color! Like this camo and lime green combination!
The versatility of a camo print is truly amazing. This print seems to go with everything and even looks good with a contrasting pattern! So when I saw these lime green sweatpants near this camo print, I thought why not? I LOVE lime green and all things bright for summer so this was an easy choice for me.
Of course, sweatpants are an easy choice, too. I love this opinion piece I found in the Washington Post: Sweatpants are no longer a defeat. Every day you get dressed is a win. True enough, right? Apparently, at some point in the past, legendary designer Karl Lagerfeld once famously declared sweatpants “a sign of defeat.” Have we let this COVID crisis defeat us?
Maybe at first. In the beginning, I think we were all shellshocked. The uncertainty created a great deal of confusion. The first month of COVID, almost a year ago, was cold and rainy here in SoCal, so it was easy to choose comfy old stuff to just throw on. After all, we spent a lot of time binging and catching up on old movies and such.
But over time, I would say, sweat gear, now called “loungewear” has come into its own. I mentioned this in my recent post Loungewear Coordinates for Fashionable Comfort. Comfy sweats, joggers, and fleece pieces are certainly having their moment right now with lots of options in styles, patterns, colors, and fabrics. And I, for one, am enjoying that moment thoroughly! Lol!
So today, once again, I am sharing my current take on this trend with a bold camo and lime green look!
The Camo and Lime Outfit
The Camo Top
This fleece pullover hoodie is soft enough to lounge in yet warm enough for an outside trip. (Maybe not in cold climates, but it will fit easily under a warm coat!)
Lightweight fleece works well in the cooler months as it keeps you warm without that heavy fleece that used to be the norm. The one I’m wearing here is another piece from the shopping trip (online, of course!) to Old Navy. As I mentioned in my earlier post, their casual sweat pieces are worth taking a look at!
Naturally, all the sizes are sold out, but here are some links to other cute and affordable camo sweatshirts and hoodies, just in case you haven’t picked one up yet!
Lime Sweatpants
Now, the distinction between sweatpants and joggers isn’t that big a difference. However, while these pants do have a gathered bottom hem, they do not have a band at the ankle, so I’m going with sweatpants! In fact, Old Navy calls them “jogger sweatpants” so they covered all the bases! Lol!
They are made with a substantial soft-brushed french terry, with pockets, a higher waist with an elasticized, drawstring waist. So they are super comfy! If lime isn’t your thing, they also come in black, light and dark gray, oatmeal, and even a blue tie-dye.
Of course, when my free photographer/husband saw these pants, he said, “That’s different.” That doesn’t mean good, by the way. Lol! But I like the color and I like this combo. I learned a long time ago to take his comments with a grain of salt. If he had his way, I would still be dressing in my preppy 80’s clothes! Haha!
The Sneakers
Lime Jogger Sweats (other colors, too) | Camo Sneakers (Lots of colors!)
Who could resist cute camo sneakers? I loved the mix of camo prints with the lime green! At under $20, these fun shoes will last a season or two! In the meantime, they will add a fun touch to lots of casual outfits–including dresses!
If you are looking for something a little different to wear with your camo tops or bottoms, try lime green! It’s a lot bolder and helps to transition those camo pieces from winter on into spring.
I went to Old Navy yesterday and found that cute camo funnel neck fleece on clearance for $7! I was so happy! But I didn’t find any loungewear pants that I liked. Oh well, I found lots of other great stuff to make up for it!

$7?!!! I didn’t pay full price, but it was a far cry from $7! Oood find, Shelbee. I love the soft fleece in that top. Looking forward to seeing all your other new stuff!

They really do, don’t they? I was surprised, I admit. Yes, lime is definitely my nod to spring! Less than a month away! Thanks, Jess.

Darlene, this is the most adorable combination! Although I bet you were super cute in your 1980’s preppy style, too! I love all shades of green so I say, “Yes, please!” to all of this! Nothing here speaks defeat in any way! Tell Karl to shush his mouth!

What a wonderful color combination! And there is nothing wrong with wearing sweatpants when they are styled like you did!
I agree! I am really loving the comfort of these pieces! Thanks so much, Nancy. Have a lovely weekend.

No, sweatpants are not defeat! Haha! Sometimes sweatpants are self-love! And yours are absolutely adorable!
I like that idea of self-love! You are so right! We are not admitting defeat by wearing these comfy pieces! Thanks, Laura.
