Happy Tuesday! We have had beautiful, sunny weather since the rain stopped at the end of last week! I’m loving it! There is just something about the sun shining that makes me feel energetic and happy. How about all of you?
For today’s post, I am styling a simple white tunic top with jeans. I have been trying to include tops with interesting sleeve detail that are casual and fun as well as trending right now.
My top is from SteinMart and is made of 100% cotton with embroidery detail on the bell sleeves. The asymmetrical hem on the tunic also continues to trend.
You may notice my ripped jeans. This is my first foray into the really distressed look that is so popular right now. Of course, we all wore distressed jeans in the 70’s and 80’s, but they typically had a fuller leg and leg opening. And the frayed hem is really big (again!) right now.
My jeans are from Nordstrom and the brand name is Articles of Society. They were fairly inexpensive, given the cost of jeans today! They were advertised as soft, and they are, and they have patchwork shading which is kind of fun, too.
There are lots of cool jean looks for fall, most with frayed or rolled hems, many with embroidery or other details. Again, what’s old is new again–but with a few twists. I found some cute looks on Pinterest; if you are interested, you can check out my Pinterest Board for “Jeans 2017” at https://www.pinterest.com/aquamarinastyle/
My white tennies are from Skechers, which you have seen before.
To keep things simple, I am wearing a diamond heart necklace from my husband, with stud earrings. As usual, I am wearing my Michelle watch. The gold and silver in the changeable band goes with everything.
In terms of the background, I couldn’t resist taking these photos from my backyard. In the background, you can see Catalina Island. On these clear, bright days, you can see the detail on the hills and the opening between the two parts of the island. It is so pretty! Sunsets are pretty nice, too. The hills are all green and lush from all the rain.
