Can you believe it’s almost the end of March already? To celebrate the start of spring and their own brand, J. Crew has designated March 31st as National Stripes Day. They have been showing their stripes (sorry!) for the past week. You can see some of their striped clothes on the J. Crew Instagram page. To honor their tradition, and because I, too, love stripes and have a lot of them in my wardrobe anyway, I am styling a cute version of a top in–you guessed it!–red stripes!
Stripes come out every spring and the nautical flair is aligned with all things summer. There is nothing that says water like a navy and white striped top, or black-and-white, or red-and-white.
Red stripes and light wash jeans
The top I am styling today is another inexpensive find from Target. (Sorry J. Crew!) I have been wanting a top with red stripes with a little flair and the flutter sleeves of this top make it much more interesting. Of course, I also like a classic striped tee (here is one from J. Crew!) and have a few of those, too. I’ll bet you do, too, right?
I decided to break away from dark jeans and styled this with a pair of light wash jeans instead. I like the contrast of the red against the lighter blue.
My red ruffled slides were the perfect touch with this top! I really love these shoes, as you know as you’ve seen them before. They are fun, cute and inexpensive.
A square neck style can really flatter your neck and shoulders as it draws the attention there. That is another cute feature of this top.
When I look back through my posts, I find quite a few photos of stripes. Here are just a few:
I guess I like stripes! Haha! And I bet you do, too. Be sure to show your stripes tomorrow for National Stripes Day!
Are you registered for my email reminders to let you know when a post goes live? I’d certainly love it if you’d take the time to sign up. And make sure all your friends sign up too!!
Have a Happy Easter Sunday and a wonderful weekend.
