Happy Friday, everyone!
What is chartreuse?!! Such a cool interesting name, isn’t it? I had to look it up to see how this color is defined and here it is: a color between yellow and green that was named because of its resemblance to the green color of one of the French liqueurs called green chartreuse, introduced in 1764. So there you have it!! I know that I am starting to like this shade! How about you? How cool is it to wear something named after a French liqueur?
The tunic I am styling today is a chartreuse tunic that I bought last year on sale at my local salon/boutique, Salon Zinnia. You’ve heard me mention it before as I have picked up many pieces there. And yes, it is dangerous there because the owner /buyer finds some really different pieces! Which of course I simply must have!! Fortunately, she has some fairly inexpensive pieces mixed in with unique designer items.
This color looks super with navy and blue shades, which you can see here. I am also styling some block-heeled slides by Vince Camuto, and a blue bag, both of which I purchased from my favorite shoe store in Laguna Beach: Tootsies. I went in to look at neutral colored shoes but when I saw this fabulous bright blue velvet, I just had to have them! They are super comfortable right out of the box.
I paired the tunic top with my Old Navy cropped, flared-hem white jeans which I am really starting to like. They allow you to stay cool but still wear a jean which is nice.
My blue necklace is the same one I have worn before, from Chico’s. I am finding the blue and silver to be a great go-to jewelry piece! It also helped tie the shoes and bag to the top by carrying a bit of blue up towards my face.
You can see the hemline in the tunic here, which is the trending look: longer on the sides and back. It is really flattering!
Thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog. And thanks, too, to so many of you who have Liked and even Shared my posts on Facebook! Follow me on Instagram, google+, and Twitter, too! And try a little chartreuse for yourself! Let me know how you like it. And please send me pictures. I learn the most about fashion by seeing how others put things together!
