Today I am styling a very cute find from TJ Maxx. The basic sheath dress is a style that almost anyone can wear and is a big staple in my wardrobe. I have a number of sheath dresses that I wore in my professional life, sometimes with sweaters and often with a blazer.
I love all the colors in this dress! I could have worn a soft or bright pink sweater or even a dark rose version that I already have in my closet. Maybe even a gray or turquoise. Because it was a warm day, I chose this elbow-length raspberry-colored sweater, an older one from Target.
I added my pale-pink kitten heels. I am really happy that this color is so popular this year (although my shoes are older), as they really do serve as a great neutral.
Once again, sorry for the squint!! A fair price to pay for a great sunny day. I also like the way the fabric at the arms and shoulders is narrowed–gives the dress a nice touch and calls attention to the pattern at the neckline. We are headed to Palm Springs next week and I will definitely take this dress along.
Did I mention that this dress was less than $30? As I said, a great find. If the weather permits, I think it will be perfect for Easter Sunday. I could also see me wearing it with wedges or low sandals.
I was thinking how cool it would look with the white ankle boots that are so popular right now. Funky, right? I had white boots in the 6th grade–anyone remember those? They were white go-go boots and I thought I was so cool. I was new at another school that year and had a memorable fight while wearing them with another girl. We ended up being best of friends. The things we remember…
What are you wearing for Easter? Do you celebrate with your family? We will be getting together with my brothers and their extended families so there will be lots of aunts, uncles and cousins, and lots of little ones! It’ll be fun to see what the little girls and boys will be styling. And boy, do they! Real fashionistas!
Tomorrow is Friday, so one more day until the weekend! I hope you have a wonderful Thursday and that you will check back in tomorrow. And remember, you can also follow me on Pinterest, Instagram, Google+ and Facebook.
