It’s that time of year when we want to be comfy and cozy. But that doesn’t mean you have to layer up like the Goodyear blimp! You can still be comfy, cozy and stylish. How? With any one of the many cute versions of the fleece pullover available now.
Fleece fabric is increasingly popular. One of my first fleece pullovers came from Lands End. It was a super warm henley style and I got lots of use from it. However, it wasn’t as soft and fluffy as the fleece fabric of today. I also had a fleece throw. How many of you have one of those? Fortunately, today’s versions are soft, stylish and come in many colors.
In case you are wondering, here is an official definition for fleece, which is actually a polyester or poly/cotton blend fabric:
Polyester fleece is a soft, fuzzy fabric used for sweaters, sweatshirts, jackets, mittens, hats, blankets, and any other application where a warm, wool-like material is needed.
Fleece may be similar to but should not be confused with sherpa fabric. Here’s a description:
Sherpa is a fabric made from polyester, acrylic, or cotton and is sometimes called ‘faux shearling,’ named for its resemblance to the wool-lined clothing worn by the Sherpa people of Nepal.
So there you have it! Today’s fabric lesson! Lol! Now let’s take a look at some of the cute fleece pullovers.
The Fleece Pullover Outfit
The fleece pullover top I selected is an inexpensive version in black, which gives it a grey hue with black trim. The three-quarter zip and stand-up color allow me to wear it open at the neck or zipped up for extra warmth.
A warm pullover like this is always a great look with jeans. For this outfit, I’m styling it with my faux leather leggings for a slightly edgy look. I’ve tried a couple of these faux leather styles, and these leggings from Spanx (regular) and Spanx petite faux leggings are the absolute best fit and the best quality. The wide band at the waist really pulls everything in, making a slimmer line. Don’t we all need that!? Lol!
If faux leather leggings are just not your thing (I have to admit, it took time for me to love them!), try it with your favorite black, white or indigo jeans.
Fleece pullovers come in so many styles and colors. And you can pick one up very inexpensively. Here are some examples from various price points, all under $100!
The Wubby Fleece Pullover was very popular last winter and is still available this season. I bought one in cream for my Mother-in-Law last Christmas and she loved it! Just goes to show you that these styles work at any age!
The Accessories
Vionic booties are truly exceptional. They are so comfortable! The wedge heel makes them stable to walk in and the 2 1/2 inch heel height is just right for style and walkability. The almond-shaped toe provides lots of room in the toe area. Most of all, I love the chunky look they add to an outfit!
Since this is the kind of outfit I wear to run errands–like grocery shopping or a quick trip to the mall!–I need my everyday bag that will hold all the things I need. I am loving this tote from Tory Burch! While I don’t usually buy this brand as so many of their pieces have large and obvious logos, this bag has only a small insignia. It has a zippered section in the middle and open slots on each side. It’s nice to be able to have access to things without unzipping all the time!
As a final touch and to add a little style, I’ve tied a scarf on my bag. I love this simple technique for adding some pattern and color to an otherwise bland look.
If you haven’t yet purchased a fleece pullover for these colder months, now is the time to try one. Or to add a second one in another color! These tops can’t be beaten for coziness and comfort–and they’re stylish, too!
Such a cute cozy look, Darlene! I have never been much of a fleece girl, but lately I have been embracing it because I am always so cold. I love the nubby fleece and I do have one with our beloved Penn State’s logo that I wear nearly every Saturday game day. Thanks for sharing your fun look and linking up!

I know what you mean about fleece. But the newer versions are softer and so cozy! I love to wear mine at night when I come home and want to relax. I can just see you on game day in your fleece!!

This is such a beautiful fleece top! I have something similar, but it is more of a tunic length top. So cozy and comfy!

That s a sweater I could use! I am always cold, so enoying!
Oh, so sorry, Nancy. It looks like you are already having some cold winter-type weather! And I imagine your illness makes you cold as well. The sweater is nice and warm and hot too heavy–just the way I like it!
Thanks, my friend.

The sweater looks so cozy and comfy and loving the color!
Ellibelle’s Corner
These fleece tops are so cozy I tend to reach for it most evenings! And they come in lots of pretty colors, but the black combo is so versatile.
Have a great weekend, Ellibelle!
