For most of us, there are still plenty of opportunities to wear jeans and other denim pieces in the summer months. While it is a heavier fabric, so many fashion items are made with denim that we can now wear it year-round. Today I’m featuring two adorable summer tops that can be worn with any denim pieces in your closet.
How much denim do you have in your wardrobe? I imagine too many to count, right? From my recent inventory, in addition to jeans of many styles and colors, I discovered several skirts, dresses, and even tops! I guess it’s safe to say that I, like most of you, really like denim!
And why not? Denim is worn so many ways, from super casual to very dressed up. As we are in a very casual time, with sticking mostly close to home, I’ve styled these summer tops casually with dark wash jeans.
Cute Summer Tops with Denim
The Camo Top
Both of these tops are from Nordstrom and came in a Trunk Club selection. I asked for resort or vacation wear (one can dream, right?) and my stylist delivered.
The first top is so unique that I decided right away to keep it. It’s by Ted Baker, a quality designer brand. But the price is very reasonable. Have you noticed the great prices out there right now? Nothing in my Trunk was over $69!
It can be styled so many ways, both casually and for a dressier occasion.
I love the razor cut scallops at the neck. I will wear it with my blue maxi skirt from the post, Mix Classic and Trendy in a Maxi Skirt Outfit for a casually elegant summer look. Can you picture it under a rust or navy blazer for a work outfit? I sure can. It also looks super cute with an indigo blue denim skirt or shorts.
The Ruffle Neck Top
The second top has a lovely pattern on a pink background that can go with almost anything. The ruffle at the shoulder and neck adds such a cute detail. It, too, would look great under a blazer or sweater for a professional look.
Gibson is the brand and they make very cute pieces for summer and vacation looks. You may remember the adorable dress in the post Ruffle Neck Halter Dress for Date Night. Their prices are very reasonable making them even more attractive!
The loose fit has a breezy cool feel, but you could also try a full or partial tuck and add a woven belt!
SHOP THE POST
Included here are links to the tops (some patterns and sizes are very limited), as well as links to denim skirts and shorts that are mostly on sale and great finds!
The beauty of denim, of course, is its versatility, and how easily you can create different looks that totally change the look and feel of each outfit.
While it may be hard to believe, it was once considered unacceptable to wear denim in professional and dressy situations! I visited a golf club for lunch with some girlfriends and was told my jeans were not allowed. It seemed wrong, especially knowing that I paid more for my jeans than did my friends who were wearing shorts! Later, I worked in an office in the educational field where denim was not allowed in any form. It just wasn’t considered ” professional” enough. This wasn’t really so long ago. But times have changed, and denim is now accepted almost anywhere. And aren’t we all glad? Lol!
Until next time, stay safe and healthy, my friends.
I just love both of these tops! Especially the first one with the scallops and light floral print. So gorgeous. I am actually someone that loves to wear denim over leggings, so I’m always looking for cute tops to pair with my jeans.

I’m with you on the denim over leggings preference! So cute tops to wear with my jeans are always a plus! The Ted Baker cami is so different that I liked it right away–and the sale price was a clincher! Thanks, Carrie. Be safe.

Great tops, Darlene! I really love the white one with the bold floral print. I have way too many denim pieces to even count. I think I would embarrassed if I knew the actual number. But there was a time about 20 years ago when I didn’t even own a pair of jeans. I wore all professional clothing to work and dresses or skirts on the weekends. Now I can’t seem to get enough denim!

I know exactly what you mean. I’ve always had a pair or two of jeans, but, as you say, I think I would be embarrassed at the number of things I have now! Glad it’s become mainstream cause we all love it. And since almost any top looks great with a nice pair of jeans, they are here to stay! Thanks, Shelbee.

Two very pretty tops! They’ll definitely get a lot of wear , so easy to slip on with jeans or a denim skirt. Thanks for linking at #WowOnWednesday Darlene.
Thanks, Gail. Yes, I love tops like this I can wear for work or casual events. Have a great weekend!

Both of those tops are so cute! I really love the scallop neckline of the cami top!
Isn’t it different? That’s what drew me to the top, too! Thanks, Laura. Stay safe and healthy!
