I’ve been sharing a lot of brown and rust looks, so it’s time for some color, as in this current designer style at Target. Love this teal and lime combo outfit!
You may recall that Target does a yearly collaboration with a number of clothing designers. This year, designers including Victor Glemaud, Nili Lotan, Rachel Comey, and Sandy Liang are part of the collaboration.
Here are some pieces from a designer collection from the 2019 Designer Collaboration, by Isaac Mizrahi:
You can see I’m drawn to designers with bright colors in their designs! Lol!
Each designer has their own take on style and color, of course. My choice for this year is this lime and teal combo by Victor Glemaud.
Here is the official statement about this designer:
Renowned for his statement knitwear, Victor Glemaud brings a joyful celebration of all people to Target for this limited edition Fall Designer Collection. Victor pairs his love of multicolored stripes and color blocking with thoughtful details to create vibrancy within the everyday for his wearers.
As I, too, love a stylish and comfortable knit for everyday style, I chose these pieces as they remind me of styles of long ago. Like in the 60s and 70s.
Read on, my friends…
The Designer Look
The Striped Sweater
Are you a turtle or mock neck lover? I’ve long worn this style of top as I like the contrast of the higher collar and the sleeker style which is typical of these sweaters.
This lime and teal striped sweater is a soft nylon knit. The length is slightly cropped with an at-waist length.
As the description states, the contrasting stripes “showcase designer Victor Glemaud’s love of stripes, colorblocking, and vibrancy.”
The knit scarf was a given as it matches the sweater. It will make for a cute warm look this fall and winter!
While I’m styling it casually here with trousers and jeans, the sweater looks great with leggings and booties for a casual ensemble or could go dressier with a pencil skirt and pumps.
The Striped Jeans
When I picked up the striped sweater at my San Clemente Target, they didn’t have these cool jeans in stock in my size, so I ordered them online. I wanted to try them, just for fun.
They are so darn cute that I’m glad I picked them up! They look great as a contrasting stripe with the sweater for some easy pattern mixing. I plan to wear them later with an oversized white shirt tucked into the pants. Or maybe with a denim shirt?
In any case, there are lots of options for styling these lime green pants.
The fit is true to size, as I am wearing my usual size 6. Of course, on me, they are a bit long so I may need to have them hemmed.
Bootcuts and White Booties
This color and style is totally retro and smacks of the 60s and 70s. Given that bell-bottoms and flared jeans were all the rage, I styled the sweater here with my Itty-Bitty Bootcut Jeans from Wit & Wisdom. Love them!
Since the whole look is a throwback to those times, I had to go with my white booties. They are my nod to go-go boots, as in These Boots Were Made for Walking. Lol! Anybody remember that?
And of course, big boho earrings are a must!
