Happy Monday!
Ready for a night out? Try this simple olive dress, perfect for date night in the fall or winter. With the weather is still quite cool here and the threat of heavy rain (though not as heavy as in Central and Northern California), I am still able to pull out my warmer clothes, boots and all…
The olive dress and scarf
Taking advantage of the after-Christmas sales, I picked up this very cute turtleneck dress at BP, Nordstrom. It is a very soft cotton and I love the olive color! Since green shades are predicted to be the trending color this spring, it seemed like the perfect purchase to start the new year. Not to mention the price of $35, marked down by half!
I picked up the scarf for $15, also on sale. I have to tell you that it was very large, possibly to be used as a shawl. I love the blanket scarf look, but being rather short, most blanket scarves absolutely overwhelm both me and whatever I am wearing. So I picked up this scarf and came home and cut it in half! MUCH more manageable. And it still has the look of a blanket scarf, don’t you think?
Riding boots and accessories
Once again, I am wearing my Ralph Lauren boots. They are so comfortable and fit perfectly. I have to tell you about these tights. The salesperson at Nordstrom convinced me to try them, and boy, am I glad she did! They are made by Commando, and a bit pricey at $36, but the fit is fabulous! The top is a wide stretch band that goes well above the waist, helping to give you a smooth line. They are super comfortable and also come in a heavier, denser fabric that would probably be even warmer. And they are perfect with this olive dress!
My bracelet is from Talbots. I purchased it for 60% off and it is so cute! I think I will get a lot of wear out of it.
We are lucky to be getting some rain this winter. You can see how green the hills and vegetation are–just hoping the snowpack will be enough to put a big dent in the drought.
