|Ah, the simplicity of summer. A white lace dress made of cotton is just the thing for a warm summer day. While it can serve as a cover-up for your swimsuit, worn casually with sandals and a straw tote, or dressed up with heels, this is the quintessential summer look. You can see similar looks on other bloggers and on Pinterest and Instagram pages.|
Blogging is mostly about the people you meet. Like all of you. While we don’t really see each other face-to-face–very much like our current situation, right?–I feel like I understand what you are looking for in fashion and beauty and even travel. Some of you have been following me for some time, and I can’t tell you how fulfilling that is! Yes, my audience is small, but they (you!) are MY people!! Another great thing about blogging is the inspiration you get from other bloggers. Those “Link Up” parties I participate in are such a great opportunity to see what other ladies are styling, what is on their minds, and how we are all working to stay “fresh,” regardless of age!
So, when I first saw this adorable dress styled by Lisa, the blogger from Coast to Coast 2, I knew I wanted to try it on me! She also styled a summery white dress and a similar pink or salmon-colored dress without lace and both look amazing. Here is the salmon on her:
The White Lace Dress
The dress I chose–also from Target!–is a similar style with a touch of lace. Both are SO cute!
This warm-weather white lace dress is perfect for any occasion. It’s made of 100% cotton with an all-over pattern kind of like a gauze fabric. There is cut-out lace detailing at the neck, sleeves, and hem with a ruffled hemline. It has a full tank-style to keep it from being too revealing. There is a tie detail that adds a cute touch, too.
Accessorizing a simple dress like this is, well, simple. And that’s on purpose. To maintain a cool throw-it-on-and-go vibe, the accessories need to be subtle. Like these adorable sandals.
Available in lots of colors, including a trendy acrylic version and a black-and-white polka-dotted pair, these minimalist, block-heeled slide sandals have been very popular. I chose the pink croc color, as I love a soft pink shoe and have been looking for a pair. Blush pink shades are soft and go with almost everything in your closet, very much like a neutral tan shade.
White rattan earrings keep the summery feel going and these were my first choice. Pink earrings would also look very nice. You’ve seen me wearing these rattan earrings with so many things as they are the “it” earrings for summer. Regardless of how you feel about that (lol!), they are very cute and make a great addition to a summer outfit.
Finally, the bag. Is it practical? Not very. Does it hold much of my “stuff.” Oh, no. But is it super adorable? Yes! The half-moon shape and the cute square handle make this little blush straw bag stand out and look far more expensive than it is. And who doesn’t like that, my friends?
Jewelry, too, needs to be minimal. This simple Laguna Adjustable Bracelet by Gorjana added a delicate touch.
To add a touch of summer cool to your wardrobe, add a white lace dress to your collection. This one is adorable and affordable and I am looking forward to wearing it out!
