The wrap style is definitely having a moment this Spring. You can see it everywhere. In tops, dresses, jumpsuits, even bathing suits! I’ve written several posts extolling the virtues of this style, and today I’m sharing a jersey wrap dress in a lovely spring color.
I’ve mentioned before how challenging it is to be a fashion blogger, because oftentimes, by the time I get the post up, the item is sold out!! Just like this dress. However, because the jersey wrap dress is so popular, I’ve linked up some beautiful alternatives at various price points. If you like one, grab it quick, as they will be gone tomorrow!
The Jersey Wrap Dress
Color is starting to sprout in fashion just as it is in the garden. (Well, for many of us at least!) Yay! And the bright green in this dress is so springlike that you can wear it now even if your weather isn’t cooperating.
While this dress has a straighter line, there are many versions that have a fit-and-flare shape which allows for movement and doesn’t hug the body below the waist. That shape works for everyone!
OK, the accessories for this outfit are my favorite part! I have to admit, in the time “before the blog,” I would have just added navy shoes and bag and been done with it! Now, however, I am spreading my wings and adding additional colors in my shoes and bags! Woohoo!
Do you have a pair of yellow shoes in your closet? These are a great option. The classic look of a loafer with a lovely mustard suede. These look great with jeans, skirts, dresses–especially with suits for the workplace. They also come in black and a pretty blue shade.
Finally–the earrings. These cute beaded ball earrings are from Loft and are available in black, white or red.
The bag brings back memories of our European river cruise. My husband picked it out at a darling shop in Budapest where the owner designed all her own bags. The colors are so beautiful and tied in my shoes and the rest of the outfit perfectly.
And finally, the trench coat. These coats are worth every penny as you will wear them for many years. Case in point: I bought this one in 2017 because I loved the fresh color AND because it was an example of Pantone’s “greenery” which was the color of the year. Here are two posts where I styled it: She Wore Blue Velvet…, and 5 Ways to Style Color for Spring.
You won’t find a coat in this color this year, but here is another version in a similar green shade–Cambridge green trench coat. Just in case you like more color like me! There are some great buys on trench coats right now so it’s a good time to pick one up for Spring.
How will you show some Spring style? Are you stepping out of the black clothing rut and adding some color to your style? We live in a time when the fashion rules have flown out the window and that’s a good thing. You can wear what you really love in the colors and styles you love with only one caveat: they should flatter your skin and your shape and make you feel great!! Try a wrap dress and you’ll be right on trend.
