Lately, I’ve been sharing lots of dress looks, mostly because there are so many cute ones out there! But if push comes to shove, you’ll find me in shorts and tops on a warm summer day.
Living along the coast with moderate temperatures, it’s so easy to wear this uniform every day! And it works. My guess is that most of you tend toward the same summer uniform, especially when the weather turns hot.
The blog has truly forced me out of my shorts and tees rut. It’s fun to step outside the box here and try more dresses and skirts. So while you’ll keep seeing me in a wider range of outfits for summer, which I am loving, you are more likely to find me at home or running around in my summer “uniform!” Shorts and tees are definitely my go-to.
Easy to Wear Shorts and Tops Outfits
For this post, I wanted to stay in the casual lane. So, the shorts and tee outfits I’m sharing are pretty basic and very casual. In fact, all three are monochromatic with the pieces in the same color families. Some days I just roll that way. How about you?
All these pieces are super affordable and some of my very favorites. Read on…
Tan Shorts and Leopard Tee
These chino shorts are from Target from last year (or maybe the year before?), and while they are a bit faded, I love the worn-in look. They just get softer over time and I like that. I’ve linked a similar pair of tan chino shorts below in 5″ like these as well as 7″.
This tee is also from Target. It’s soft and washes up beautifully. At a price point you can’t turn down. It also comes in a gray leopard.
The double )-ring belt is also linked as are the comfy sandals.
Olive Shorts and Camo Tee
You first saw these Bermuda-length shorts in the post, Easy Olive Bermuda Shorts Outfits. They are the Riviera fit style and come in 4 colors. On sale, they won’t last long. (You know Loft!)
This inexpensive camo tee is another Target bargain. I have these in several colors. This particular tee is at least a year old and is one of those tops you reach for all the time. I’ve linked to the same V-neck style as well as two additional camo tees.
Clay Shorts and Cotton Top
My newest shorts addition are these Clay-colored Riviera shorts. They are 6″ which is a good length for me. I wore my usual size 6, and they are comfortable but you may want to size down if you like yours a bit more snug.
The color is neutral so it will look good with lots of colors, but when I saw this cute floral at Target, I picked it up. It makes for another monochromatic shorts outfit. It will look great with a white tee, of course.
This cotton top is loose and easy with puffed short sleeves and ties at the neck and sleeves. It would look super cute with jeans or a white skirt for the office.
