A beautiful blouse can turn any pair of black pants into an elegant outfit. The details make all the difference. This elegant square neck blouse with shirred sleeves raises this outfit from an office look to an evening look with just a few simple changes.
And you DO NOT have to spend a lot of money to create a simple and elegant look.
Simple elegance and minute detail make this square neck blouse with shirred sleeves a wardrobe piece you can so easily style. A solid color pairs with the square neckline for a contemporary look, while a loop and button at the back bring feminine detail. Loose sleeves with subtle shirring are the finishing detail that gives the blouse a bit of Victorian feel. Simple style!!
The ice blue tones in this silky fabric make this blouse a bit special. The blouse also comes in black! Wouldn’t it look darling with a pair of black watch plaid or tartan plaid pants? That would make a great holiday outfit. And a tailored pair of black pants also does the job.
This square neck blouse is another lovely piece from Target’s Prologue line. Their simple yet beautiful pieces are such great additions to your wardrobe. If you haven’t checked them out yet, be sure to on your next visit to Target. Or click above to take a look at it online. The catalog photo doesn’t really do it justice, do you think?
Classic Black Pants
What is your favorite brand for basic black pants? My go-to for well-fitting tailored slacks is Talbots. These bi-stretch ankle length pants are fitted but not tight. I have them in several colors. They were a staple for my workwear wardrobe and I can still get lots of use out of them. You can see a pair of bi-stretch ankle pants with velvet trim–perfect for the holidays!–here. They also come in a straight leg style which is a look that is coming back at last!
A basic colorblock outfit like this calls for leopard print, and a pair of leopard kitten heels is my heel of choice. They are a nice neutral yet still create a bit of interest in the outfit. And, just for fun, I styled this outfit with a snake print clutch.
We took these photos at the outlet mall that is near our house. NOT our favorite location for an outlet mall, but it is bringing industry to our smallish town and attracting visitors. It still has a bit of a local feel, however, with a very cute shop that features items made by local San Clemente folks and local fundraising events and the like.
The Christmas tree is very tall and looks very pretty at night, but photos at that time would be a big challenge! But it creates a lovely backdrop for showcasing holiday style!
A Christmas Wish for You
I’ve mentioned a few times that my theme for the holidays this year is simple elegance. By keeping things simple but nice, I want to squeeze every single moment of fun and pleasure out of this time of year. Without being stressed. Or exhausted. I wish the same for you.
In this vein, I’d like to do a future post sharing all of YOUR ideas for keeping it simple this holiday season. What are your ideas? How do you ensure that you are fully present in the celebrations you’ve created? Share your ideas with me so I can pass them on. We can all learn a great deal from one another, and this blog was designed with that purpose in mind. Send your thoughts and ideas to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I can’t wait to read your comments!
