Good morning!
Wasn’t the Solar Eclipse exciting?
We definitely were in Central Oregon the wrong week, since we were there less ten days ago. but we were close to Madras which I’m sure you’ve seen on the news as a totality point! Darn! (If you missed it, you can check out my post about the Central Oregon area here.)
Still, we were able to see 60% of the eclipse in Southern California which was very cool. Luckily I bought glasses at McDonald’s when we were in Oregon because they were apparently sold out in my area! Here you can see me “styling” my cool glasses! lol
OK, back to reality! Today I am sharing another Fall essential: the military style jacket. This type of jacket has been popular as a Fall fashion piece for several years now, so it is still a good investment. I bought mine about two years ago and have worn it dressed up for work and down for casual looks. My jacket is a bit more “polished” than some of the jackets, due to the fabric, but all types will work.
To illustrate how easy it is to mix and match pieces, I have added a sleeveless floral top trimmed with lace and my old standby jeggings. My berry-colored booties pick up the pink flowers in the top, but would work nonetheless, as they are truly a “neutral.”

You can see how the look changes just by buttoning and tying the jacket.
This was a great jacket with black slacks and a patterned top for work along with heels.
There are lots of choices in styles for a military jacket. Some are super casual and some are a bit more dressed up. All are super cute! Here are just a few:
It’s my hope and intent to save you time by sharing some of these Fall essentials. I would love to hear your comments–are these choices helpful? Anything in particular you would like to see?
