Hello, everyone! I’m thrilled to be hosting today and sharing this plaid waterfall cardigan on Nancy’s Fashion Style!
When she asked for guest hosts, I jumped at the chance. If you don’t know Nancy, I have to tell you what a amazing lady she is. While dealing with a serious lung disease, she still manages to travel (except during COVID!), work out, bike, and share her amazing fashion sense on this page!
I love Nancy’s sense of humor. She has a crazy dry wit and seems to talk to us through her posts. And I don’t know anybody who is having as much fun blogging as she!!
We first “met” when Nancy was setting up a collaboration called “Match Made in Seven.” We had lots of fun with that and the challenging themes each of us determined for our monthly posts.
As for me, I’ve been blogging at AquamarinaStyle for almost 5 years. Wow, time has flown! I started my blog right after my formal retirement as an Assistant Superintendent of a local school district. After just two weeks, I was going crazy not being busy! The blog was a way for me to not let myself get bogged down with style.
I continue to work with school leaders as a coach and consultant, and between blogging and that work, I keep pretty busy. Just the way I like it! Lol!
I’ve always loved putting pieces together to make new outfits, and this is a fabulous creative outlet for me! I get LOTS of inspiration from all of you!
I’ve met many lovely ladies through blogging, like all of you, and Nancy. Here’s to a few relaxing weeks off for Nancy!
Now, let’s get to it. Here is my outfit for this Fancy Friday.
Plaid Waterfall Cardigan Look
When we think of fall style, what comes to mind? My guess is plaid. Probably flannel. Possibly muted colors. The plaid waterfall cardigan I’m sharing today checks all the boxes.
Now, there is some comment that the waterfall cardigan is “out” for 2021. Since I’m not a person who really cares about that, I picked it up for a fresh fall look. I love the mix of colors in the plaid–the deep pinkish-purple tones with the black. Something new and different, at least for me.
Do you have one or two of these style cardigans in your closet? If you’re looking for a new way to style them, add a belt. Imogene of Inside Out Style shows a few clever ways to add a belt in her video clip.
This particular cardigan is very lightweight which is great for early fall or wearing in the house in the cooler weather. For me, I can wear it for much of the fall and winter here along the coast in Southern California.
You could easily style it with a black turtleneck for both a warm and sophisticated look.
While I’ve styled it casually here. I added kitten heel pumps for a little umph. I love heels with jeans outfits but prefer a shorter heel with a casual look. For colder weather, I would wear my wedge booties.
You can see just how easily this waterfall cardigan could change up for a professional or work environment just by switching out the jeans for trousers or a skirt. I love it when pieces can do double duty!
You can see my post along with lots of fashion inspiration on Nancy’s Fancy Friday Link-Up Party.
Thanks for spending a little time with me on Nancy’s Fashion Style.
