Do you wear gray? I love a dark gray shade in the summer. It looks good on the skin when you have a bit of color. These gray cotton-linen blend utility shorts are a cute design that I love for casual wear. The leg shape is slightly wider and that works for me.
In case you missed it, I once again got on my bandbox about wearing shorts over 50 in my last post.
Honestly, anyone and everyone CAN wear them! You just have to find the best fit for your leg shape. And then you just DO IT–wear them and enjoy the cool feeling of wearing something that everybody has a right to wear!
Of course, if you feel self-conscious sporting your overly white legs, try a sunless tanner. I’ve shared my love of Jergens that gives just a touch of color while also acting as a moisturizing lotion.
I’ve put together lots of posts featuring many different styles. Some look better than others, and I choose the style of my shorts according to where I plan to wear them. On vacation or around the pool, shorter shorts work well. Walking the dogs in the neighborhood finds me wearing an athletic or denim short. For a dressier occasion, I might wear Bermuda shorts or a pair with a paperbag waist. I like them all, but, as I say, not all of them like my body shape equally. However, I still think with the right pieces, you can pull off almost any style you like.
Here are some posts featuring various styles of shorts:
These are just a few posts. It turns out I really do like to wear shorts! Lol!
The shape of these utility shorts is easy to wear for most of us. They include a button front and clean waistband, along with the wider leg style. I will wear them in the future with a tank tucked in and a white crochet belt with wedge sandals for a slightly upscale short outfit. you’ll probably see them again!
As for sizing, many reviews found them to be a bit on the large side, but I liked the fit with a bit of room.
To be honest, I wasn’t too sure about this ruffle sleeve top. But I liked the gray-on-white print as I can see it with white jeans and bright pink accessories, so I tried it. I don’t usually look too great in a “sweet” style like this, but it turns out to work for me.
What do you think? The fabric isn’t linen but has a linen-like texture that feels light and airy for summer.
OK–these SHOES! They are the kind of thing you either love or hate, right? I saw them on Grace’s blog Granola and Grace and thought they were so darn cute! They are a great summer choice as they are waterproof.
The brand is Aetrex so they are made to cushion and support your arch and heel. They are a pricier and higher quality than other pairs you might see, but worth the price for a cute and comfy summer sandal.
The sandals have velcro straps around the ankle and across the foot that are adjustable so you can fit them to your foot. As the sandals are slightly wider, this is a great feature for me as my feet seem a bit narrow in this style. There are several color options including leopard, bright pink, navy, and black. So a color for everyone!
If you are looking for shorts that flatter, try these utility-style shorts. Trust me, you will look good in them if you feel good in them! And for comfy shoes that are totally ready for anything that summer throws your way, give these water sandals a try!
Happy shorts shopping, my friend!
