What do you think of the current trend of snake print? I admit I have not been a fan. While I absolutely love leopard and cheetah, the snake print boots and such haven’t been a favorite. Maybe a not-so-deep seated dislike of snakes in general? Could be. However, I changed my mind with this pink snake print shirt.
For any of you that use Nordstrom’s Trunk Club service, you know that there is an opportunity to review your Trunk before they send it. My stylist sent me the items and images for the latest Trunk, as always. When I spotted this blouse, I thought, “Nah.” Remembering my pledge to try new things, I left it on the list.
When the Trunk arrived, I waited until the last to try on this snake print top. I was quite sure I wouldn’t like it. When I put it on I was totally surprised! Not only did I like the fit, but the pink just popped against the snake print.
My husband walked by and said, “Wow, that actually looks really nice.” High praise from a man, right? Lol!
Long story short, it ended up a keeper.
The Pink Snake Print Shirt Outfit
This blouse, from Topshop, has a nice fabric that drapes well. Since I’ve already discussed the print and color, let’s talk about the neckline. It is truly a bit on the LOW side. This works fine for a night out with your honey, but probably not for work or many other events.
You could remedy that easily with a black lace-edged cami. Or even better, if you dislike layers under your blouse, try this pretty Cami Lace Bra. It covers up any unwanted cleavage with a pretty lace insert. I use this bra under lots of pieces, including dresses, with a neckline that is a bit too low.
This top comes in four other very fun animal-inspired prints in vibrant browns and blacks. They all look super cute!
The pink and black print cried out for black pants, which are perfect for so many occasions, including work. To keep it a bit casual, I am styling it with my black Paige jeans. These jeans are pricey, but they are super soft, wash beautifully, and keep their dark black color. Love that!
For workwear, style it with black slacks and a blazer. Perfect!
Have you noticed the trend toward heels with jeans? It’s starting to show up everywhere. Now, many of the models are sporting 4-inch heels, but I’m getting a close enough look with my comfy kitten-heeled pumps! Haha! Here are two similar options:
Vionic Kitten Heel (Vionic is an approved orthopedic shoe)
Sam Edelman (comes in several colors)
A bright pink clutch would look super cute with this top, but since I don’t have one (yet!), I’m styling this outfit with a plain black bag.
Pink earrings or black? Tough decision, right? These black beaded hoop earrings won out.
Valentine’s Day is coming soon!
Can you see yourself styling an unusual print shirt like this one? With Valentine’s Day coming SOON–about three weeks!–this just might be my outfit of choice.
