Ah, the many shades of leopard print! You can pick up a leopard print in almost any color, and I couldn’t resist putting together this gray leopard sweater outfit.
There are so many gorgeous interpretations of this print. It’s just another example of Mother Nature’s ability to create beautiful patterns for us to emulate. I especially love this version in a red print as I styled in last year’s post Fall Trends: Red Leopard Sweater Outfit. It just goes to show you that year after year, some trends remain essentially the same. And leopard print is one of those that has become a constant in the fashion world.
Gray Leopard Sweater Outfit
A leopard print in traditional brown and black tones has become a classic wardrobe staple. So when I saw this beautiful gray version, I had to give it a try. While it would look great with almost any color, like red!, I decided to style it monochromatically so I could show you all the pieces I used to pull it together.
All of the pieces in this gray leopard sweater outfit are wardrobe basics that can be worn with lots of articles of clothing you already have in your closet and styled in multiple ways.
The Sweater in Gray
I was fortunate to pick this up on my early purchase day during the Nordstrom Sale, and it sold out quickly. It’s a bit pricey as it is made by Barefoot Dreams. (QVC has a similar leopard Barefoot Dreams Cardigan here.) However, I’m showing several other options below. Any of these offers a cute alternative to the brown-and-black leopard we already have in our closets.
Really, is there anything better than a cozy cardigan sweater?! I recall coming home from work every day (you know, back before the Zoom meeting?!) and putting on my uniform: jeans, tee, and cardigan. After a long day anywhere, it just feels great to cuddle up in a warm cardigan on a cool fall day.
OK, those of you who have been following me have read about my obsession with Wit & Wisdom Jeans. (Check out the post The Perfect Black Sweater Outfit for Fall to see the Itty Bitty Bootcut Jeans I love!) I also love the dark wash skinny jeans and black ankle jeans. These jeans are moderately priced, have just the right amount of stretch, and come in regular and petite sizes. So check them out if you haven’t already!
In the market for a pair of gray jeans, I was super excited to see them available in gray, as I’m showing here. While I love my older split-hem jeans from Frame (shown in the post Split Hem Jeans Outfit), a pair of basic jeans were needed to round out my wardrobe. These have a slightly higher waist in an ankle-length.
The Camisole and Mules
There are just too many ways to style these versatile tops, aren’t there? While mine is sold out, here is a nice version in a satiny cami top. Of course, with all the subtle gray, you could substitute a pretty color in your top or even a coordinating print for a little pattern mixing.
Older gray mules are my shoe of choice. When the weather actually turns colder (maybe November?), I’ll change them out for my gray ankle boots.
However you style it, consider adding a gray leopard print cardigan to your closet for something just a touch different!
