Welcome to Day 4 of my 5 Ways to Style Color!
I hope you enjoyed the sunshine today. I know I did! It’s hard to believe rain is predicted, once again, for tomorrow. Yikes!
In honor of the sunshine, I decided to go with some bold color and pattern today. I am styling my darker jeggings with a hot pink top and patterned cardigan.
My top is sleeveless with a double layer on the front. It is really easy care, just wash in the washer and hang to dry, which I love. I bought it on a trip to TJ Maxx some time ago and have found lots of uses for it.
My cardigan sweater is from Target from two seasons ago. I really like the many colors that go with so many pieces and love how it makes the pink top pop. It, too, is really easy to care for and can be washed and tossed in the dryer. I have worn it with a denim dress and it looked great!
I am so glad that cardigan sweaters continue to trend. They really do look good with everything–skirts, jeans, dresses, under blazers, over blouses, even all by themselves (buttoned, of course! LOL!) And there are SO many versions, colors, patterns, and fabrics, along with price points ranging from very inexpensive to high end. I once wore another Target cardigan to my doctor’s office, and he thought it was cashmere and wanted to buy one for his wife! Just goes to show you it’s all about how you put it all together.
Finally, I wanted to showcase my newest loafer-style shoes. (They first appeared in yesterday’s post.) Once again, they are by Flexx from Nordstrom. While the color is stated as “dark silver” you can see the bronze tones as well. This was a way to tie my shoes in with my bronze cross-body bag. They certainly don’t have to match, but you want your accessories to tie into another piece in your outfit either in another tone of the same color, the same matching tone, or in a great color or pattern that just seems to make everything pop. I am trying to be a bit bolder and step outside my comfort zone in this regard and would love to hear your ideas on this! Anyway, here is a picture of my great new shoes and complementary bag.
Tomorrow will be my final post highlighting the use of color. I hope you have enjoyed this series. I would love to hear from you!
