For today’s post, I want to share another inexpensive “fashion find.” I absolutely love blazers with almost anything (must be my 30 years in education!) and really like how well they work with jeans. I have several of the more “formal” blazers in my closet and have wanted to find one that’s a little edgier. Of course, I didn’t want to spend a lot of money! While in Target last week, I came across a new line they are carrying: WhoWhatWhere, a well-known name in fashion. They had some really cute pieces, including the black blazer I am styling here. It was a whopping $39.99! I like the shorter cut in back along with the pseudo double-breasted buttons in the front. It’s actually a little heavier polyester that looks like a wool-blend fabric with a full lining and is machine washable! I love that!
My blouse was also a great find, again from Target. It is by Mossimo and cost less than $25.00. I love the tie front along with the ruffle detail on the upper placket of the blouse. I also like the blue and white flowers sprinkled throughout. I think this top would look great with grey pants (either jeans or slacks), white jeans, or black or indigo jeans as well. It would also pair nicely with a jean jacket or even a light blue pant suit or slacks. Or a skirt!
For this outfit, I am styling it with my Democracy jeggings. I’m also wearing my Munro booties, once again.
I wanted an outfit that would look semi-professional for a meeting I had scheduled to talk about some educational consulting work, but I didn’t want to dress in the status quo. After all, I am “retired” from my formal job and wanted to look professional, yet more casual. I felt very comfortable in this outfit for this meeting.
It’s always fun to mix casual pieces with more formal ones. How do you mix pieces in your wardrobe? Please share your ideas or reactions in the ‘Comments” section below. I would love to hear from you!
