If you’re like me, you just can’t have too much denim. As in anything. So, when I spotted this adorable denim maxi dress, I had to get it to share with all of you!
On the plus side, there are SO many stylish denim dresses, so I’ve included several links, in case you are in the market to add one (or another one!) to your wardrobe.
The beauty of a denim dress of any kind is its versatility. I have visions of a friend of mine who styled one a few decades ago with silver sandals and a silver belt. It was stunning! It’s one of those pieces that you can wear to the beach or to a fairly dressy party and still look appropriate for the occasion.
I recall going to a golf club with another friend wearing designer jeans. It turned out that jeans weren’t allowed, so I had to go change into some ratty shorts I had with me. Those were fine! We laughed over the fact that my outfit–with my nice jeans–was a far more expensive outfit than anybody else’s in our party! Ever had an experience like that?
In one of my positions in education as an administrator, we were not allowed to wear jeans or any outfit that included denim. That wasn’t so long ago. Things are definitely changing, however, as I see lots of Pinterest boards showing casual outfits for work that include jeans. Does your dress code allow denim?
In any case, jeans and denim have become the staple of everyone’s wardrobe, regardless of our age, and I am sharing three ways to wear this easy style.
The Denim Maxi Dress simply styled
A denim dress can be styled simply with flats or heels and very little jewelry and still look fabulous! For the first look, I’m showing how a simple outfit of the denim dress can be styled with a neutral shoe and a colorful scarf and look great!
Unfortunately, like most things in fashion, it sold out quickly. I’m linking to it here just in case one or two become available: Denim Maxi Dress from Chico’s.
While this particular denim dress is maxi length, you can do the same with any length dress. Here are some nice options, too:
Denim Shirt Dress – (Could wear as a tunic, too!)
Long-sleeve Denim Shirtdress – (Knee length)
Maxi Shirtdress – (Long sleeves, pricier)
Shirtdress – (Knee Length)
The low wedge sandals are by Ecco. I bought them in both brown and black and they were the only shoes I packed to wear onboard the ship on our recent cruise. They can be worn with dresses–both long and short–as well as shorts, jeans, and skirts. If you need a comfortable pair of sandals for your next warm-weather vacation, check these out!
These earrings…love! I picked them up in Sydney. They are from Carolina, an Australian line, and they have some adorable pieces in both their clothing and jewelry. Check out these denim blue tassels earrings.
The Denim Maxi Dress Dressed Up
For a little fun style, here is a look with floral kitten-heeled booties. To bring out the yellow in the booties, a cute crossbody bag in yellow does the job.
These patterned booties are sold out, but you can still get this kitten heel pointy-toed bootie in several colors. Or add a pair of your favorite booties!
The Denim Maxi Dress for Winter
Of course, many of you need to up the warmth factor in your fashion choices. So I’m also styling this basic denim dress for a winter outfit.
I added some dark denim leggings and left a few of the buttons open for some extra style. Booties, the winter staple, look great with a long dress, so I added these oak or tan suede booties.
A cute faux fur vest adds some fun while also adding lots of warmth to the outfit. Do you still have yours from last winter? Faux fur is still trending and it adds an extra layer of warmth.
It’s easy to see why a denim dress is a staple in any woman’s wardrobe. The denim fabric goes with almost anything, the fit is comfortable, and you can wear it for any season. I hope I’ve inspired you to pull yours out of the closet and add some fun pieces to make lots of outfits!
