Two-piece pants suits in all colors and styles are a big trend this spring. The bright pink suit, bright green suit, and vibrant blue and orange suits are all over Pinterest. Following along with this trend is the shorts suit outfit. All of the monochromatic suits this spring can be called “power suits.”
Another expression for the matching two-piece suits is “co-ords.” This is shorthand for a coordinated look, a matching two-piece outfit like a pants suit, shorts suit, or even a skirt suit. This approach is a more relaxed take on a power suit which is great for spring and summer.
A shorts suit outfit is such a fun look for the warmer seasons. The jackets can be boyfriend style in a longer, boxier fit, or double-breasted, and the shorts are a bit of the looser-fitting style. The current trend is for a matching or monochromatic jacket and shorts, typically with a tank or tee underneath the jacket.
Since this style can be worn for a summer work outfit as well, you will often see the shorts suit outfit styled with heels or platform espadrilles. But as with anything else, you can style this outfit up or down. It would look just as cute with a pair of white sneakers or flat sandals.
The Shorts Suit Outfit
You really don’t have to spend a great deal to get a cute co-ord outfit. But even if you did, you could easily style them as separates: a quality blazer can be worn both casually and professionally for years to come. The same holds true of a nice pair of shorts. In my case, however, I am styling a very inexpensive shorts suit outfit for those of you who like to try out a trend but not spend a lot.
This outfit is evidence, once again, of the adage that “Target does it again.” These two pieces are both from the A New Day line and honestly, are very well made for the price.
This stretchy cap sleeve tee is perfect under blazers. It has cap sleeves and a slight high-low hem. And comes at a great price!
When was the last time you spent more on the accessories than on your outfit? Yesterday, last week, fairly recently, right? Lol! It’s a common occurrence for we women, that’s for sure. In the case of these sandals, I have to eat a little crow. I’ve written in my posts, more than once, that these higher platforms are not for me! Well, when I tried these on from my last Trunk Club, I changed my mind! These are both comfortable and cute, don’t you think? And they just happened to strike a nice neutral chord with this shorts suit outfit!
These slingback platform sandals are by Marc Fisher, so are definitely a bit pricey, but his sandals and espadrilles have been wildly popular and trending the last few summers. And this lovely dark tan suede will be a great color for summer.
The bag is a packable tote with some lovely gold threads woven in. It will be a great bag for your upcoming beach or tropical trip, because it’s, well, packable. Lol! Or just around town as a summer bag. And it’s moderately priced.
