You may not often think of it, but a slip skirt is truly a closet staple. Like its sister, the slip dress, it’s easy to dress up or down for almost any occasion. And with a slip skirt and cami set, the styling options are many!
How to Style a Slip Skirt and Cami Set
A slip skirt is one of those wardrobe workhorses that adds easy elegance to a variety of tops. I shared my gorgeous emerald green slip skirt with a party look in a holiday post (before COVID, of course!) and I get lots of wear out of it year-round!
This skirt has a high waist and elastic waistband so it’s super comfortable to pull on and wear. The subtle pink dip-dye print skirt is cut on the bias giving it a lovely drape.
The woven cami is such a simple design but is so versatile. Honestly, you can wear these tops a million ways, for a casual look by themselves, for a professional look under a suit blazer, or for a formal occasion. It has a lovely flow and adjustable straps. Small side slits make it perfect to wear untucked with jeans and sandals or flats, or you can tuck it into the matching midi skirt for a co-ord look.
For a Coordinated Look
The easiest way, of course, is to style the two pieces together as co-ords or as a matchy-matchy look. To me, this is a dressier look, but you could just as easily wear the two pieces with a pair of sneakers or flat sandals.
It’s such a pretty look for a dinner date–at the beach, on vacation, or just stepping out at home! The white gauze shawl (similar linked here) gives it that breezy vibe that makes you feel like you’re on vacation! These shawls are so pretty–and in this case, while they are not expensive, they do cost more than my skirt and top set!
It’s super easy and stylish to dress down this midi skirt by tucking in a plain tee. or knotting it at the waist, as I have here.
White sneakers keep the look comfy and casual. Mine are by Nike from last season. Perfect for a day of running errands!
Another look is easily created by styling the cami top with jeans and sandals. I wore the same pink ones here, but any summer sandals or sneakers would look great!
Here I’ve styled the cami top with my slightly deconstructed jeggings for a pastel palette. It would look just as nice with white jeans or indigo jeans. For summer, shorts or a denim skirt will work perfectly.
Once again, my pink denim jacket stepped in for a color-coordinated look.
For another look, you could pair it with a coordinating color blouse for a chic two-piece look. A pink or white silk blouse would look beautiful with heels or sandals. The possibilities really are endless.
This slip skirt and cami top is totally affordable and comes in several colors as well as extended sizes. These pieces will serve you well to form many outfits for spring, summer, and beyond!
