Hi, everyone. Yikes, this week has just flown past, hasn’t it? Today I put some neutral pieces together to create a stylish look that you can wear almost anywhere. Olive green, off-white, tan, leopard print–all of those shades serve as workhorses in any wardrobe. Of course, black and denim are also part of that group!
These olive pants were the basis for a series of posts styling olive-green; you can view the posts here, here and here. Today’s outfit might act as a “mulligan” or do-over for those earlier outfits. Take a look and let me know what you think!
The neutral outfit: olive-green pants with off-white top and animal print bag
This neutral outfit is composed of these pieces: olive green pants, off-white top, tan block heels, and an animal print clutch. This is one of those looks that just make you feel comfortable and confident while still looking stylish.
Animal prints also act as a neutral as they go with almost anything, and work especially well as accent pieces. They are also great for pattern mixing, as long as there is some commonality, like a common color. While some style influencers believe you can’t wear more than one animal print accent at a time, I say do whatever you think works and makes you feel good. I have mixed similar animal print pieces and felt confident that it “worked.” At least for me, and that is what fashion is all about: doing what works for YOU!
There are many versions of this tie-front top. The beauty of this style is that it truly is flattering for all. The tie front gives some definition at the waist while also leaving the waistline fabric loose. Perfect for those of us who want to hide the good old muffin top! Haha! This tie-front top is from Target’s A New Day line and has a perfect weight for winter. At less than $20, it is truly a bargain! You can see it here.
Our weather is warming down, so I understand if these block heels don’t work where YOU live. But booties or even some warm boots would look super cute with an outfit like this, and a warm faux fur or puffer coat would still make this outfit work. How would YOU style an outfit with neutrals?
Thanks for stopping by today. I appreciate those of you who have subscribed to my blog and would love any comments or feedback.
Have a wonderful weekend and check back in on Monday!
