Good morning! I hope you all had a wonderful Mother’s Day. It’s one of those days we can all celebrate as we all have mothers, or aunts, or grandmothers or special women who have influenced our lives. I have many. My mother passed away a long time ago, before my son was born, and I miss her every day. She was truly my best friend. We laughed, we cried, we talked about almost everything. I dedicate this post to her as I know that she is still with me.
How did you spend Mother’s Day? I got to spend some time with my son and husband at a lovely brunch here in San Clemente. We really enjoy one another’s company, and it is so fulfilling to see my son growing into such a special man.
How did you style this day? I was absolutely determined to wear a sundress I recently purchased, but of course it was cool, gray and blustery! So many of my photos lately have shown me with my hair and clothes blowing all over the place! Well, that is the reality, isn’t it? In any case, I did wear the dress, but styled it with my tan leather jacket and an animal-print scarf for a belt.
The sundress is from Old Navy and was so inexpensive. I like to buy seasonal pieces inexpensively when I can find one of good quality, and this dress turned out to fit the bill. It is made of a soft fabric, fully lined, with a zipper on the side. All in all, a good purchase. I see me wearing this when we go to Cabo this summer!
Once again, I am wearing my Paul Green woven sandals. These were very pricey, but I love the quality of them. They are handmade in Austria with soft leather and rubber soles and heels.
My bag and leather jacket are both from Nordstrom. I bought the bag the season before last and it is still in great shape. They say that fringe is out, but I will use this bag as long as I enjoy it, as you should do with your favorite pieces! I bought the jacket at a pre-fall sale at Nordstrom some years ago. You can always use leather jackets so it has been well worth the money.
Both of my men brought me pretty flowers, as you can see here. My son ordered some of my old favorite movies that he used to watch with me; he ordered them in DVD format, since they are no longer watchable as VHS! That’s how old they are! Truly oldies but goodies!
My husband spent a long shopping trip helping me find a camera to use for my blog. I ended up with a Sony 6000, which is a new mirrorless model. They say it captures the light even better and is the latest technology! The pictures do seem clearer–I hope you can notice the difference!! lol!
I wish you a wonderful start to the week, and hope you will check back in for tomorrow’s post. You may notice the “pin it” buttons on the photos. It would be great if you would pin any outfits you like on Pinterest as that helps me to grow my following. And, as always, you can follow me on Pinterest, Instagram, and Facebook.
To all of you wonderful women on this Mother’s Day, I wish you the best.
