Who is your favorite fashion designer? There are so many to choose from and each of them has their own distinctive style. Did you know that Target has had long-standing partnerships with many of them? In their recent “20 Years of Design for All” event, they featured new clothing, housewares, bedding and accessories from many designers including Isaac Mizrahi fashion styles.
You may remember Isaac Mizrahi from his role as a judge on Project Runway. He is known for his iconic use of color and pattern. (Truthfully, I haven’t seen many episodes as my husband is the keeper of the remote at our house! Haha! Which is OK as I don’t watch a lot of television. Does that happen at your house?)
The best thing about this designer collaboration with Target is the ability to pick up some super stylish items from top designers at Target prices. Can’t beat that, right? Most items were scooped up quickly but I was able to grab the two pieces I’m styling today. Both of them are still available, but with limited quantities.
Here’s a little scoop about the design event and Isaac Mizrahi fashion from the Target website:
Collaboration Years: 2003–2009
American fashion designer Isaac Mizrahi launched his label in 1987 to critical acclaim, rising to fame as a fashion industry leader and icon. From 2003 to 2009, we (Target) brought his cosmopolitan flair to womenswear, housewares, bedding and accessories. His exuberant take on women’s style is evident in his bold color and prints — an impossible-to-miss Mizrahi moment.

Two decades ago, Target was first to bring great design to everyone through exclusive partnerships with amazing designers. Now we’re celebrating by bringing back 20 of our most-loved moments.

The Yellow Coat
Happily, fall seems to have arrived here in Southern California, so one can actually wear a lightweight coat! And this yellow one is adorable. Of course, I do happen to be a HUGE fan of yellow, as you all know if you’ve followed me for long. Lol!
So, upon spotting this butter yellow coat with the contrast color, I just had to give it a try! What could be better on a crisp fall day than a pop of color like this?!
I styled the coat and blouse with white skinny pants as I wanted the bright colors to be the focal point. Of course, you can wear a coat like this with just about anything. Thrown over a pair of jeans and a white top or tee, you are ready to go! I would even wear it over a business suit on a brisk fall day. It’s roomy enough to allow for layering.
The Silk Colorblock Blouse and Yellow Pumps
Speaking of a pop of color, this colorblock blouse has lots of it! The blouse is a pure silk tunic style with panels of orange, pink and yellow hues for a pop of colorblock design. I love the bright mix of colors, which is a hallmark of Isaac Mizrahi fashion.
I must admit that I am not overly fond of the lettering on the blouse with the designer name. This is a pet peeve of mine. I don’t feel I need to advertise products in my clothing. But the quality of the blouse is great and I love the colors, so I am keeping it. How do you feel about this?
Do you love yellow shoes as much as I do? Well, these have been my favorite pumps for a while now. However, this will be the very last showing of these beautiful shoes. Our adorable new adopted doggie, Lulu, is very fond of my shoes and had a great time destroying the heel and the suede on the top. We have to be very careful about keeping her busy–and keeping things above her reach! She is just over a year old and loves to play so we forgive her. I just had to do some doggie toy shopping to keep her occupied!
To replace my beloved yellow shoes, I’ve ordered these cute mustard slingbacks. (On sale for $45! They also come in leopard and tan.) You’ll be seeing them in future posts!
Just because it’s fall and the cool weather is here, we don’t have to resort to dark clothing all the time! Add some color to your fall wardrobe and try a few pieces from Isaac Mizrahi fashion while they last!

Fabulous coat and blouse! I love the bright colours! I’m with you on logos – I don’t like to pay to advertise for a designer, but it doesn’t detract from the beauty of the blouse at all. What a shame about your shoes – they’re so nice too! At least my cat can only pee on my shoes and clothes…which he does from time to time! Thanks for linking up!

Haha! Well, she hasn’t peed on any articles of clothing–but she has used my living room rug a few times! Lol! We’re working on that. Thanks for the input on the blouse. I finally decided to return it with mixed feelings. I loved the color but the logos just bugged me too much! I’ll have to keep looking for something bright and pretty like that top. Darn!
Have a great week, Emma,

Darlene, these colors are so magnificent on you! I do love Isaac Mizrahi as well. I have the cutest red paisley corduroy blazer from his Target Collaboration way back when! I have styled it on the blog a long time ago. I guess I should wear it again! I wasn’t even sure how long I have had that blazer, but apparently I bought sometime between 2003 and 2009…but probably closer to 2003. He does have an eye for color and fun prints. I absolutely adore this outfit on you. Thanks for linking up with me.

Wow, your blazer classifies as vintage by now! Lol! You should restyle it in a post! I’m loving all the fall colors, but sometimes you just gotta go for color, right? I love the bright yellows and reds!
I love hearing about your pieces. You’ve been blogging a lot longer than me, my friend!
Best,
xx Darlene
I feel the same with lettering or logos. I love LV but chose a Damier print as I didnt want a logo bag. So the same. I love the bright colors of your blouse, against the white it looks fab, as does the jacket. Sometimes you need a pick me up with color!
thanks for linking!

Yes, I love the colors, so decided to keep the blouse despite the large Isaac lettering. But it’s definitely a pet peeve and oftentimes I choose another piece without the logo or name, as you did!
Enjoy the rest of the weekend, Jess,

Love that yellow coat Darlene, looks stunning with the blouse, the white and the fab shoes. Yes my husband is the keeper of the remote in our house, and we don’t often like the same programs. But when his choices get too much, I put on my noise cancelling headphones and watch a program on my tablet. Thanks for joining #WowOnWednesday!
I love your headphone strategy, Gail! I’ll have to try that! That darn Target just keeps getting too many cute things and I just couldn’t resist a yellow coat! Thanks for the comments and for hosting.
Happy Saturday,
xx Darlene
I do agree about the lettering but I do love those colors on you!!

Thanks for the input, Mireille. Yes, the lettering bothers me but the color and silk fabric won out!
Have a great day!

What a bummer about those shoes! Hopefully your replacements are just as cute. Our puppy is the same way! That coat is so pretty on you!
I know, right? Puppies are notorious for loving to chew your shoes, so it was all my fault! I’m loving the replacements but they are definitely a different style. The coat was a steal at $50!
Happy Thursday, Laura,
xx Darlene
