Welcome to Day 3 of my 5 Ways to Style Color!
Well, you could say I’m seeing red, since that is the color I’m styling today. You just can’t talk about using color without including red, can you? And there are so many shades of red. There is almost always at least one shade of red that flatters everyone, but sometimes you have to try a few to find your shade.
The shade I’m wearing clearly has an orange tone, which works really well with the yellow in my skin. My jeans are several years old–at least six years old! They were from the Chico’s “So Slimming” line. Still trending as are all colors of denim. The zippers at the ankle help keep them current as well.
My top is a very inexpensive one I picked up at TJ Maxx. It’s almost dangerous to go into one of those stores cause I am always able to find way too many things, and with the cheap prices, it’s easy to go overboard! I really loved the floral chiffon-like fabric, and, being sleeveless, I can wear it year-round.
My jean jacket is also from Chico’s. I remember that I bought it because I especially liked the cropped length and the sparkly buttons. I’m still liking it–and wearing it–today!
My booties are my old Vince Camuto standbys. I needed a little extra warmth as we are having a cool foggy day in between rainstorms!!
Finally, I wanted to showcase how great red and coral look together with my little cross-body bag. If you look closely, you can see a tiny bit of coral in the flowers on the blouse, but the red shade of the pants and shirt look great with coral by themselves. Just like red and pink, red and coral are a really nice look.
I hope you are enjoying my take on color and that you, too, are thinking of new and fun ways to add color to your outfits–even in the cold and rain!
I would love it if you would like and share my post by clicking on the icons below.
Happy hump day! After all, it’s a red letter day!
Warmly,
Darlene
