Goodbye, May Gray; Welcome June Gloom! Just a little saying we have here along the coast. After a cool, overcast morning, our afternoon turned sunny and warm! So in honor of the changing temperatures in a single day, I am styling a long sleeve top with lots of pretty details.
This is another great find from my local hair salon and boutique, Salon Zinnia. The owner, Jody, does a great job finding unique yet affordable pieces. As I know I have mentioned several times, it is very dangerous for me when I go in there every month! But I am always happy with my purchases. You can check out their website for basic info, but you really have to stop in to see some of the great pieces in the store! Check it out the next time you are driving around in San Clemente!
While this is a simple top, there is a lot of detail that makes it interesting to look at, including statement sleeves and crochet and lace details. It’s a lightweight cotton so not too warm for a cool afternoon or evening.
It does have a bit of a deep opening in the front, with gold-tipped ties, so I had to wear a camisole underneath. To keep cooler, I would just add a bra with a high front lace insert. I love the feminine ruffle detail on the bottom and the lace edging on the sleeves!
To avoid an all dark blue silhouette, I am styling it with my destroyed jeans by Articles of Society from Nordstrom. These were my foray into the destroyed look–I actually do like them for certain looks, but normally prefer a simpler style. A dark or even colored jean is much more slimming!
Finally, to keep it simple, I added a necklace from Sundance with plain gold hoop earrings, and my new mules from TJ Maxx. And for the bad hair day, a simple high ponytail! Haha!
The top has a gradual high-low hem, longer in back, as you can see here. This style is very forgiving for those of us who want to cover the rear!!
For Monday’s post, I will be sharing my pieces from my first Stitch Fix box. Because I’m a pushover and like all kinds of things, I kept all five pieces!! LOL! Check back in next time for some really cute looks from my Stitch Fix Stylist. And please continue to LIKE and SHARE my posts on Pinterest, Instagram, and Facebook.
Have a wonderful June weekend!
