We are in typical “May Gray” mode here in Southern California. While not exactly cold, it isn’t pretty and sunny, so it’s time to break out another look: the camo pants outfit!
Bloggerland is abuzz with THE WEDDING. Did you get up at O-dark-30 (military language, to go with the outfit! Lol!) to watch it? I had a speaking engagement on Saturday so had my husband tape it, but with all the buzz and pictures and news coverage, it turned out I didn’t even need to view the saved version! Haha! I did enjoy the unique take that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had on their royal wedding and expect an impact on the future course of the monarchy.
Speaking of that, here are some interesting facts about monarchies around the world. Countries with monarchies are the wealthiest and the best at protecting their people’s assets. As a general rule, and certainly, in Great Britain, the monarchy pays for itself due to the influx of monies from tourism, which is greater than the cost to the country. Interesting, huh? Maybe we need a king and queen? Haha! Or maybe we can just enjoy Great Britain’s pomp and ceremony, right?
The camo pants
Do you like the camo craze? Being a lover of olive-green, this is an easy pattern for me to like. The trick is how you style it, of course. In the summer, just add a white tee. For fall, a cozy sweater. A couple of cute layers like a turtleneck or henley with puffer vest is a great look that keeps you warmer in the winter. For me, my almost, but not- warm-enough summer outfit consists of a cute tee and a military/utility vest.
These jeans are by Democracy, who make my very favorite jeans and jeggings. They are stretchy and super comfortable.
This cute tee has an elastic waist and comes in a couple of colors. (Sorry, I couldn’t find the link.)
The camo pants outfit
Booties really can be worn year-round. This perforated pair makes them great for the warmer weather to come. And the lower heel is a great, casual look.
A military or utility vest in olive-green is a great investment for your wardrobe. It can be dressed up or down, with jeans and slacks and even a dress.
You can see the ” dappled” sunlight in these photos. Just a bit coming through the clouds. It seemed to just “go” with the camo. Do you have any camo in your wardrobe? If not, just buy one piece and dip your toe in this color: I think you will find it is fun to wear and easy to style.
We’re headed for the Palm Springs area for Memorial Day weekend and looking forward to some HEAT! What are your plans for the upcoming holiday?
Have a wonderful Wednesday and check back in on Wednesday for another look. Hopefully, something for summer!!
