Let’s face it: loungewear coordinates are here to stay. At first, we threw on old sweats and leggings for comfort since we really weren’t going anywhere. But over time, specifically over the past year, these comfy sets have become de rigueur. (There’s that word again, meaning required by current fashion!)
It’s been fun to watch the revolution in loungewear trends. Where confined to wearing them around the house changed to wearing them out and about, the trend progressed from basic colors to all manner of shades and hues, including bold prints.
In fact, matching tops and bottoms in loungewear is also considered co-ords. While we usually think of co-ords as a “regular” outfit, like my blazer and shorts in the post How to Style a Shorts or Co-Ords Outfit, this term is now fitting for loungewear!
Today I’m sharing some co-ords and coordinating loungewear pieces you might like to add to your collection.
My Loungewear Co-Ords
You might recall this cute pink leopard set I picked up last fall. It’s surprisingly soft for a bargain from Target.
Pink Leopard Joggers | Leopard Sweatshirt and Joggers (in rusty brown) | Grey Slip-on Sneakers
These co-ords are a recent addition to my closet. I love the “All the Waves” color.
The longer sweatshirt is perfect over fitted leggings like these as it provides just enough coverage to make this outfit comfortable to wear out. I know some gals look great with a cropped top and leggings but I feel a bit self-conscious outside of the house. What do you think?
I wear these pieces to my outdoor fitness class with a matching tank and sports bra underneath. Since I start out chilled but warm up pretty quickly (Lol!), it works well for this. And then it’s substantial enough to run a few errands.
Tulip Hem Hoodie (in Waves and Cedarwood and other colors) | Leggings (in Cherry Birch or Camo Green) | Sneakers
These pieces, as well as the following loungewear pieces, are from Old Navy. I know what you’re thinking–that Old Navy doesn’t always provide the quality you’d like. But honestly, these pieces from their “Active” line are comparable to others out there, like Gap and Express. They are all substantial knit fabrics, well-made, and super soft! All at Old Navy prices!
Coordinating Loungewear
In addition to matchy-matchy co-ords, where both the top and pants are the same color or pattern, there are lots of options for creating outfits made of coordinating loungewear pieces, like these patterned sweats. My leopard sweatpants are getting lots of wear this winter! You’ve seen them before in the post How To Style Sweatpants For the Holidays. In that outfit, a red sweater generated a more “dressed up” outfit.
Here, I’ve added this adorable zipped hoodie, also from Old Navy. As I mentioned, it’s super soft and warm, too! A basic V-neck black tee and black wedge sneakers complete this comfy outfit that I can wear anywhere.
Leopard Sweatpants Option 1/Leopard Sweatpants Option 2 | Zipped Hoodie | Wedge Sneakers (option)
I got my first manicure in a year, and my manicurist said she loved this style! So there you go! (Be sure to check out my nails. They are all cleaned up and coated in a soft peach! Lol!)
Have you added to your loungewear wardrobe this past year? I know I have. While my past uses include an old sweatshirt with my jeans, or sweatpants with a tee, I’m now wearing these matched sets fairly frequently. How about you?
I love those co-ords in “All the waves.” I’m with you on not wearing cropped tops and leggings outside the house! I bought a set of co-ords in a beige wool, soft as cashmere, but I haven’t worn the outfit much. Too hot indoors as I always have the heating on full blast. So mostly I wear my gym outfits or hiking trousers (basically chinos or cargo pants).
Ooh, your co-ords sound beautiful! We rarely turn on our heater so I am able to wear these warmer pieces inside. But I am itching to wear some more “dressy” things as I know you are. I keep reading that fashion is expected to go all out once things become “normal” again. Won’t that be fun?!

Darlene,
All of this loungwear is so darling on you! I saw that pair at Target! I am loving the sea blue color in that set, so pretty on you! I have been buying a few more loungewear pieces that I would otherwise and leggings, but they do look cute when off to the grocery store of pharmacy!
Love your shoe choices!

Darlene, you are so adorable in these cute lounge wear sets! I really like the minty green one! I have to head to Old Navy this week for some pants for Archie, I am going to have to check out some things for myself as well! Thanks for sharing and linking with me, my friend.
