Merry Christmas Morning!
I hope all of you are having a wonderful celebration with your family and friends. This is such a special time of year to enjoy one another. I am looking forward to my BFF and her husband, who are arriving on Tuesday to spend a week with us here in Southern California. We have been best friends since junior high, and while there were years that went by without seeing each other or connecting (sometimes life gets in the way!), when we get back together, it’s as if we’ve never been apart! I bet many of you have that same friendship, right? It’s pretty special.
Since returning from our LONG trip with just over a week to prepare for the holiday, I’m afraid I am behind in many things, including the many posts I have planned! So I wanted to take a little time this morning to share my Christmas Eve outfit. We have a long tradition of spending Christmas Eve with my brothers who live locally and their families–a tradition my mom started a long time ago, and her mother before that…
I wanted to wear something bright for the holidays and was lucky to find this great top that I am styling for you. It is a Kate Spade that I picked up for less (though not totally inexpensively) at T. J. Maxx as part of their designer “Runway” collection. I just loved the colors!
I hope your holiday celebrations are truly special. My very best wishes to all of you.
I decided to make my outfit a little edgier, so I styled it with coated jeans by Joe’s. I picked these up a year ago at T.J. Maxx and love the “leather” look of them. My ankle boots are suede and made by Lucky Brand and I ordered them early in the fall from DSW, so I got a good price. The open-toe and sides works well here, even in the winter. For a dressier look, I would style the top with a pair of dressy slacks, like mine from Vince Camuto.
The jewelry I am wearing was a gift from my husband a few years ago, and is from Sundance. They make some really beautiful pieces and he has bought a few of them for me over the years. These are made with pearls and garnets and the necklace attaches with a black suede string, so I can adjust the length. For this top, I made it choker length so it wouldn’t distract from the top.
I had fun decorating my tree with aqua and red this year and kept it fairly simple, as you can see.
Happy holidays to all! I will be posting some of the outfits I styled on our cruise over the next week, so I hope you will check them out. As always, any comments or ideas are welcome!
