Mesh Sleeve Top Styled Casually

Did you take advantage of the amazing sales before the holidays? Yikes, I sure did! In this post, I’m restyling this adorable mesh sleeve top from the post, Quintessential Christmas: Red Plaid Leggings.

This style of top staged a comeback this season and they come in all kinds of styles and colors. Though the black tops are the most popular, they are also pretty in white and other colors.

In addition to sharing current styles, like this top, I’ll be sharing fun beauty tips that I’m playing now and then. Look for them at the end of posts. I would love your feedback or results if you tried them!

Mesh Top Styled Casually

The Top

When I was in my teens, we wore either bell-bottom jeans or “pegged” which was an early version of skinny jeans. For the most part, we wore them casually, either with a boho top or some version of a plaid flannel in cold weather. In the summer, we often went barefoot! Times have changed, yet not so much. In fashion, as in most things, trends circle back every so often.

All to say that jeans outfits now are de rigueur* and can be worn from super casual to very dressed up. Don’t we all love that?!

Here’s a little aside on the term de rigueur:

*The word de rigueur, meaning socially obligatory, proper, or required by custom, functions as an adjective in English. It comes from French, where it means, literally, of rigor and, less literally, according to strictness.

So, given that such looks are currently considered proper, I’ve styled this somewhat elegant top with jeans! Lol!

The Outfit Pieces

Really, any jeans will do. I like the medium-wash as it contrasts with the top. I’m wearing my old favorites from Gap in a straight leg style. Don’t you love how your best jeans just get better the more and more you wash–and wear–them? Just in case you are in the market for a new pair, here are some options:

I’ve included several versions from Paige Jeans, all on sale. If you haven’t tried Paige jeans, give them a try. They fit beautifully!

As we are having a very cool week with damp, coastal fog, my favorite leather biker jacket added a nice touch and keep things warm. You’ve seen it in many posts and it was a bit pricey a few years ago but worth every penny!

The rhinestone belt was the final touch. I am loving this belt with SO many things. I styled it recently with a basic black knit jumpsuit in the post, The Knit Jumpsuit Circa 202 and 2021.  For the price, you can’t beat it!! It adds just the right touch of bling to a casual outfit like this!

The Beauty Product Tip

I’m sure many of you have tried the many tried-and-true eyelash lengthening products, right? I tried two of the best brands and while they worked nicely, the formula irritating my eyelids. Yes, a delicate flower, that’s me! NOT!

I’ve been reading about a Castor Oil product that gals swear by for growing lashes and brows. It’s reputed to:

Grow long lush lashes and brows
Stimulate Hair Growth
Generate Smoother Skin

So, I’ve just started using it at night. I’ll keep you posted as to how it works. Let me know if you’ve tried it! You sure can’t beat the price, right?
