After a warm, Santa Ana winds week, we are once again having fall weather. {Thank goodness, as the many fires have calmed down, at least or now.) With that, of course, comes the return of sweaters–the mainstay of any fall wardrobe. One of the best things about sweaters is their versatility, and this multicolor striped sweater outfit is the perfect example.
The Multicolor Striped Sweater Outfit
The Sweater
Do you love stripes as much as I do? Even better, when those stripes are wide and rich with color. The colors in this pullover are what sold me. I can wear it with so many pieces depending on which color I want to play up. (I purchased the sweater in Medium as I like my sweaters looser and comfy.)
For this post, I just had to style the sweater with dark jeggings to play up the indigo blue stripe. Wearing a darker bottom piece is always a great way to create a bit of slimming, and don’t we all love that?
These fawn slouch boots are the perfect shaft length for pulling them up over your skinny jeans. The boots would also work well with leggings, tights, or jeggings as styled here. I styled them with a sweater dress in the post, Easy to Style Sweater Dress with Sneakers and Boots.
Sneakers would also work for a super comfy look.
Here are some images from previous posts featuring pieces in my closet that would go beautifully with the striped sweater:
However, I can also see this top with my pink or navy slacks and heels for a slightly dressier look or a casual workday. Light wash jeans would complement the lighter blue stripe. Or how about with a denim skirt–either white or indigo? And wouldn’t it look amazing with a rust floral skirt? There are SO many possibilities for styling this top to create a multicolor sweater outfit that fits anyone’s taste.
The Accessories
How cute is this rust bandana neck scarf? When I spotted it, I could immediately envision it with SO many outfits. It comes in 7 fun colors.
A faux leather rust tote bag completes this casual look. This inexpensive little bag has served me well as it goes with everything! Any cognac bag would also work and the neutral color will go with many of your holiday pieces.
With the holidays right around the corner, you might want to put together a multicolor striped sweater outfit that you can style various ways for the many events coming up.
Fall Musings: The Holidays are Coming
Speaking up coming up, can you believe that Thanksgiving is just 17 days away? That means the Christmas holiday is just 44 days! Can you say, Yikes?! Since Thanksgiving falls late, there is just over three weeks between the two holidays. And you know what that means for us, right ladies? We need to be planning now.
Are you one of those ladies who are already ready for the holidays? Or one who prefers the excitement of shopping up-to-the-minute? Either way, now is the time to get organized, and that means planning for special meals, holiday parties, and picking up gifts.
Planning for those events is much easier if you get your wardrobe figured out early. That means you can spend the holiday time focusing on gifts and time spent with those you care about, instead of running out to pick up an outfit at the last minute. And settling for something less than you’d normally choose. Or spending WAY too much for an outfit you won’t wear more than once.
So, jot down your holiday events, check out Pinterest, look through your closet, and start planning your holiday wardrobe now!
Love it Darlene! I’ve got those boots on my Christmas list – let’s hope Santa sees it! Jacqui

Hi Darlene!
Love this look. The stripes have colors I love and I see you love rust as much as I do! The slouchy boots look wonderful with the dark denim and fit perfectly. I love your accessories too- I am a big fan of neck scarves! You have alot to go with the sweater in your closet.. i have been making sure I have pieces already in my closet to what I buy now. I need to think about what I will wear for Thanksgiving, I am hosting and it is just my sister, niece, husband and me, but I want to be comfy!

Yes, I know what you mean about a Thanksgiving outfit! Even with a small crowd, we want to look fashionable, right? Jeans and a cute sweater seem perfect to me with some accessories to dress it up a bit. Or maybe even a skirt or sweater dress–but comfort is key!
And I am loving rust this season–it goes with so many things!
Thanks, Jess,
xx Darlene
That is a lovely outfit! Jeggings and boots are hard to beat, and perfect with the striped sweater.
