Good morning! What are your plans for the weekend? With my ankle and foot on the mend, at last, we are planning a mini-hike to enjoy the beautiful weather. The whole issue with my ankle tendon and foot took almost a year to resolve. I tried all the remedies–physical therapy, wearing a boot, staying off my foot, resting and icing, and so on. So after ten months of that, I elected to do the surgery and then started THAT round of healing. However, I’m glad I did as the surgery is now behind me. Which brings me to my current issue: restoring my health and fitness. While I gained just a few pounds throughout that ordeal, I noticed a significant shifting of fat–and not to the parts where you’d like a little fat! My doctor wants me to build up my ankle strength gradually, starting with walking and stretching, so I needed a nutrition plan that would give real results that didn’t rely on a heavy workout routine. Hence, my fat loss journey with Faster Way to Fat Loss.
I had been following the progress of other bloggers who tried and liked this fat loss versus weight loss program. So I did some research and read as much as I could about some of the science and philosophy: intermittent fasting, paying attention to macronutrients over calories, high-intensity interval training, and so on. Coming from a family with a long history of heart disease, with related high cholesterol, triglycerides, and adult-onset diabetes, I have a high sensitivity to carbs and my numbers from blood tests have been rising. It was definitely time to do something!
In my fourth week of the six-week program (actually 7-week as there is a prep week), I find that skipping breakfast and fasting until noon is actually easy to do! By the third day of eating carefully to meet the macro requirements, I not only wasn’t hungry, but my digestive system was and is feeling so much better! And my clothes are fitting better as well. We are not allowed to weigh ourselves, as the main objective is fat loss for health, not weight loss, but I have clearly shed a few pounds.
There is a workout plan for all levels of fitness with videos showing the various moves. I do a few of those from the “beginner” level, but most are too hard on my ankle so they will have to wait. I was encouraged by the gal who developed the program, Amanda Tress, who said that while the workouts are important, the nutrition plan can be done by itself. I didn’t want to have to wait for a crazy, tough fitness regime to reshape my body!
Especially encouraging is the owner’s mantra: Progress over perfection! Such an important way of thinking when changing our habits! It takes time and effort and the goal is for overall progress.
Since it is working for me, I want to share the FASTer Way to Fat Loss with all of you so that you, too, can read about the science and philosophy behind it. If you are serious about losing the fat and reshaping your body and about eating better than you have in years, give the program a try! It is an online program, which I know sounds crazy, but you communicate with the other ladies in the program and the coaches through a private Facebook Group, and they give prompt and helpful feedback. The cost is $199, and while that may sound pricey, you learn a great deal and get wonderful support–not to mention it really works!
There is a new round coming up on February 5th if you are ready to get started. (And don’t forget, the first week is prep before you start the 6-week program, which gives you time to study the program, pick up some healthy food, and get your head in the right frame of mind! lol!)
I will keep you posted as to my progress and my blood test results, too! All I can say for now is that I am feeling really good and glad that I chose the FASTer Way to Fat Loss Program. It’s working for me!
Email me if you have any questions. Check out the information for yourself and see if it fits your needs.
Have a wonderful weekend and be sure to check back in on Monday. Next week I will share both summer and winter looks and tell you a bit about my skin care products and regimen, so stay tuned!

Darlene

Hi, Darlene! I have finally decided to write to you after reading this article! I am currently studying the PhD Physical Therapy program as well as write on my own blog (although just started hehe). I also have a bachelors degree in Kinesiology and I am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. Your writing is really inspiring! Just checked in to tell you. Finally stepped out of the shadows of just being an anonymous reader!
Thanks very much, Adam. Your blog looks very interesting. Best of luck!!
Hi, Darlene! I found your site today through a link-up. Just yesterday, I signed up for the FWTFL program. I, too, saw it on several blogger’s sites. I have been eating mostly paleo for a while so the food portion won’t be too unfamiliar. The workout is what I need. My goal this year is to get stronger. Glad to know that you are giving a thumbs up to this.
Terry
Hi Terry. Glad to hear from you and that you are trying the FWTFL. Hopefully, I can do another round in a bit to work on the strengthening piece, too. Best wishes to you!
