Hello everybody,
Whew! Friday at last! I thought I would end this week’s posts with some photos of my flooring project in its almost completed stage. Here are some photos:
I’m having fun choosing some of the new touches. I really like the new rug, for instance, in the living room. I actually bought it online from Wayfair. I was hesitant to order something that big, but there were lots of positive reviews and pictures from people who had already purchased it, so I felt pretty safe ordering that way. I was looking for something in a denim-ish blue and most of what I found was a darker navy. So this one really seemed to match what I wanted. The price was good, I liked the color, the material is wool which is good, and it works in my room! Finally, I really like the way the white design in the rug pops against the floor.
We are so happy with this purchase of vinyl flooring. It looks so woodlike, but is totally waterproof and feels a bit softer to walk on. Before my floorplan felt a bit broken up with the combination of tile and carpet and by putting this throughout, there is a better flow in the layout of the house.
Of course, there are still things to be done in terms of final finishes. For one thing, the baseboards had to be repaired and repainted (cha-ching!). I know I also mentioned our shower pan leak that was discovered when they attempted to put the flooring down in our master bath. Well, we are now down to the studs and negotiating with the insurance company. It appears we will have to re-do all the tile in the bath in order to match everything. This is, of course, both an opportunity and a real pain in the neck. So, we are living on particle board in the bath and the final painting of the bedroom and bath will have to wait for the total repair and replace. (Sounds like repeal and replace–hmmm.) They estimate 7-10 days AFTER the terms are all figured out! Yikes! Will this ever end?!! I know it will be worth it in the end, but it does make you feel disorganized while it’s all going on. Oh, well…
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend. Check your mailbox Monday morning for my latest witty comments! lol!
Warm regards,
Darlene
